Ye Olde Walking Dead Spoiler Thread

Why bother with any other forum?
Forum rules
We once roamed the vast forums of Corona Coming Attractions. Some of us had been around from The Before Times, in the Days of Excelsior, while others of us had only recently begun our trek. When our home became filled with much evil, including the villainous Cannot-Post-in-This-Browser and the dreaded Cannot-Log-In, we flounced away most huffily to this new home away from home. We follow the flag of Jubboiter and talk about movies, life, the universe, and everything, often in a most vulgar fashion. All are welcome here, so long as they do not take offense to our particular idiom.

Haha, that element of the episode sort of reminded me of the repetition of "Make Your Own Kind of Music" throughout the Lost episode that introduces Desmond.

What's the betting Daryl caves in - or seems to - to get close to Neagan?

Probably to the Hilltop because there's a doctor there. She and Sasha split from the rest of the group at the end of the first episode, remember?

They seem to be taking time to introduce a few more communities of survivors. I feel a team up vs. Meagan and his mob is on the cards?

After the last episode (with the iron), I really feel like Daryl's gonna be starting something.

I also have to say that while the survivors' storylines seem to be on a treadmill, you have to admire the creative zombie destructions they continually invent. The one with the suspended zombie was terrific, especially since you could anticipate it happening.

I can't tell if Daryl and Rick are finally broken, or just devious bastards biding their time!

I think Rick is broken--with kids he has too much to lose--but Daryl is biding.

I hope they don't ruin Negan. Just leave him as an out and out evil bastard. Don't give him a semi-sympathetic backstory.

Nobody wants a downcast Daryl. Should be a good setup for the second half.

Yeah, it was nicely finished. Now we can get back to some good ol' fashioned post apocalyptic violence!

So this 2nd half of this season really looks like it will get good and go somewhere..... but probably with the speed of one of their zombies!

The first episode after the hiatus was really good! It moved the story forward, there was some typically heavy-handed symbolism (Jesus leads them to the Kingdom), and some borderline pointless action at the end that was nevertheless entertaining and created tension.

The second episode was decent when it came to the parts related to the events at the Kingdom, but that whole parallel storyline with Rick at the dump was super-dumb. First of all, how many years are supposed to have passed since the beginning of the show? Six? Ten at the most? How was that enough time for this dump community to develop into full-blown Beyond Thunderdome? And how is Rick so sure that they won't screw him over once he gets them their guns? He seems to take their leader's word at face value, which seems totally out of character for him. Anyway, a whole lot of stupid shit in those parts of the episode.

Again there was some heavy-handed symbolism in the parallel between Daryl and the caged tiger. Instant friends, natch. It's nice that Daryl continues being this kind of paragon of virtue in the group (when he's not killing people). It's obvious that there is potential for romance between him and Carol, but Daryl always seems like he's beyond all that. He kind of needs to be in order to stay the group's moral center.

Daryl is also the one among them who looks mostly in need of a good bath. And that's saying something!
