We once roamed the vast forums of Corona Coming Attractions. Some of us had been around from The Before Times, in the Days of Excelsior, while others of us had only recently begun our trek. When our home became filled with much evil, including the villainous Cannot-Post-in-This-Browser and the dreaded Cannot-Log-In, we flounced away most huffily to this new home away from home. We follow the flag of Jubboiter and talk about movies, life, the universe, and everything, often in a most vulgar fashion. All are welcome here, so long as they do not take offense to our particular idiom.

Unfortunately Euro dance music seems to have been taken over by people like fucking Tiesto and their brand of spangly bloody Euro dance shitness that infects the most pikey of Med summer resort.

On the subject of music at least, we seem to be on the same page. I like Arcade Fire a lot, and I'm digging what I've heard of their new album so far. I can't say I care much for the video for Reflektor. The Swollen Goiter of God wrote:I'm a fan of a lot of Canadian music. I like Neil Young, the Band, the Unicorns (plus their various splinter groups), Arcade Fire, Leonard Cohen, the Guess Who, BTO, Gordon Lightfoot, Stompin' Tom Connors, Sneezy Waters, Hank Snow, Diana Krall, Joni Mitchell, Broken Social Scene, the New Pornographers, Sloan, Ronnie Hawkins (though he's techinically naturalized), and Rheostatics.
Also, I consider Canadians and Mexicans to be Americans. It would be wrong not to.

I didn't know they were ever married. Truth be told, I didn't know any of the people in Sum 41 had real names. I only know one Sum 41 song. I had to look at a list of their songs to get the title. After I found the title ("Fat Lip"), it occurred to me that I had no memory of how the song sounded, so I looked it up on YouTube. When I listened to it, I remembered it. I also remembered I didn't like it. I still don't like it.

I saw some Lit and Alien Ant Farm among the related videos when I went to give "Fat Lip" a re-listen. I think my brain just combined them all into a single shitty pop punk band along with Blink-182 and post-Smash Offspring.

I don't know why more Sum41 songs couldn't sound like "Pain for Pleasure," the short track that is often tied in at the end of "Fat Lip." I'd probably like them more if they sounded like that.

Boston will be playing here in August or September, along with Steve Miller.

How can it be Boston when the lead singer committed suicide a couple years back? Always makes me sad every time I hear "A Man I'll Never Be."Corporal_Hicks wrote:Boston will be playing here in August or September, along with Steve Miller.

Sigh... I'm a slave to my fans, or whatever:
I will not post the rap version of this.
Unless it is properly requested.

I was unaware of the rap cover. I sought it out. I regretted seeking it out.

I heard this song recently and liked it.
I didn't realize that it was a remix until I searched for it on the Web. The video for the original version is kind of cool, but for some reason I prefer the remix. I feel that it sounds better with the electronic arrangement by CSS.

I like both. I prefer the second, but it might be because the video is so awesome.

Re: .
I like both versions, but I heard the remix first, which may contribute to my bias. The melody that introduces the original version gives it an altogether different tone from the one in the remix. It makes the song sound a bit more silly, or at least more playful. That's not a bad thing, but it's just different from the impression I got from my first encounter with the song.
The style of music in the original also reminds me of 90s music, which is always welcome. The escalating guitar strumming and bells in the chorus remind me of some other song. It's very familiar, but I can't put my finger on it.
