The Pro Wrestling Thread

Why bother with any other forum?
Forum rules
We once roamed the vast forums of Corona Coming Attractions. Some of us had been around from The Before Times, in the Days of Excelsior, while others of us had only recently begun our trek. When our home became filled with much evil, including the villainous Cannot-Post-in-This-Browser and the dreaded Cannot-Log-In, we flounced away most huffily to this new home away from home. We follow the flag of Jubboiter and talk about movies, life, the universe, and everything, often in a most vulgar fashion. All are welcome here, so long as they do not take offense to our particular idiom.

A proud moment. A proud man. A proud company. A proud athletic form of entertainment based on a portrayal of a combat sport.

It's NXT Takeover night tonight and I'm awfully excited!! Nakamura v. Aries is gonna be GREAT, but more importantly it's "the end" of the Finn v. Samoa Joe feud, which means Finn Balor should FINALLY be hitting the main roster!

I've been watching him for about two months and I think Shinsuke Nakamura has already reached my all-time top 5 favorite wrestlers list. That skill set matched with that. much. charisma? My God. That is a talented, talented man.

Something tells me you put somebody new in your all-time top five every other year.

That's because McMahon ends up canning half the roster every other year, it seems.

Actually, no! My top 5 has been pretty well locked in for at least 5-10 years now.

In chronological order:

Bret 'Hitman' Hart
Chris Jericho
The Rock
CM Punk
Shinsuke Nakamura, narrowly knocking The Undertaker out of the top 5 overall.

I don't know if I'm willing to take the time to come up with a top five, but here are some favorites (in no real order):

The Fabulous Moolah
Macho Man
Gorgeous George
Buddy Rogers
Roddy Piper
Ted DiBiase
Junkyard Dog
Jerry Lawler
Ricky Steamboat
Jimmy Snuka
Brutus Beefcake

I spent most of the first three years of my life in Columbia, South Carolina. Haven't been back since I was almost four. If I ever do go back, I want to visit the cemetery plot shared by the Fabulous Moolah and Mae Young. I like cemeteries. I like seeking out the final resting places of dead celebrities.

Jimmy Snuka should have had a German rival named Jerry Stuka.

Man, I should write for WWE.

I think you might be too good a writer for the WWE.

But Hulk didn't. That angry closeted queen who was bank-rolling him did.

Seems like Jerry Lawler has probably reached the end of the line with WWE.

Also, the Money In The Bank PPV is this weekend. I remain firm in my belief that there isn't a major sport in existence which wouldn't be improved by the addition of a Money in the Bank briefcase.
