IT'S VACATION TIME HULKY HUMPERS!!!

We once roamed the vast forums of Corona Coming Attractions. Some of us had been around from The Before Times, in the Days of Excelsior, while others of us had only recently begun our trek. When our home became filled with much evil, including the villainous Cannot-Post-in-This-Browser and the dreaded Cannot-Log-In, we flounced away most huffily to this new home away from home. We follow the flag of Jubboiter and talk about movies, life, the universe, and everything, often in a most vulgar fashion. All are welcome here, so long as they do not take offense to our particular idiom.

Cut out all that beach, and it looks like fun.

Do you know how much a day x 3 people at any Disney park costs?

The beach is free.

Disney ain't.

I could see myself becoming a serious beach bum.

Sand in your shorts, too much sun, horrible public toilets ... There's a reason it's free. Although I suppose if you have kids you can amuse yourself by watching them.

Sorry, I'm a flower of the arctic tundra, and I wilt if it gets above 70-75F.

I can't. That novelty wore off almost two years ago.

Hollywood Studios is still fantastic. All of the Disney blogs would have you believe otherwise.

It's just...awesome.

(I wrote a big, long piece right now, but deleted it because it does not do the park justice).

My advice: Don't read the blogs. They are too consumed with the texture of the French fries to enjoy
the endless awesomeness of the experience.

I just can't get over Star Tours. It is a plow your mind awesome.

And isn't the old Indiana Jones thingy nearby, very large, and coming to the end of its natural life? Now Disney owns Star Wars, reckon it will expand into that space? I mean, Jeebus, they already have a full sized AT-AT! Imagine Star Wars + Disney when the theme park guys get their hands on it?

How very dare you! Indy doesn't age. He just gets to a point where he ends up hunting himself.

While he does continue snapping a whip, I'm not sure this makes him a whippersnapper.

We didn't watch the Indy Jones stunt show this time. My kids are still too small (4 and 1) to deal with that on a hot day.

Disney, smartly, diverted a lot of human traffic to Hollywood Studios with their Frozen attractions.

Frozen is huge. I don't thnk any of us realize how huge it is. Anna and Elsa are rock stars for the kids, and Disney had to find new ways for kids to get to see them without standing in a 3 hour line (still happens). They do a great Frozen show at Hollywood Studios. It beats anything at the Magic Kingdom (which is an ordeal).

Long story short, my 4 yr old got to experience the Muppets, Star Wars, and Frozen all in one spot = Mind blown.

I don't get all the ado about Frozen. It's decent, but way too song-heavy in the first 20-30 minutes - the pacing just didn't feel right. The fact that all the songs were crammed into the beginning had a negative impact on character development, in my opinion, but maybe that's not really what kids are looking for.

I wonder if people who were in their 30s back when The Lion King came out felt about it the way I feel about Frozen. To me, The Lion King felt like an instant classic, but Frozen feels like the big Disney movie until the next big Disney movie.

Mal, I am with you on this. As an adult the film doesn't really make much sense, and loses A LOT of steam by the time it gets to the Let it Go sequence.

Also, it seems to me that Anna is the main character, yet Elsa is the Disney princess that people will murder each other to see in person.

Maybe Anna is C3PO and Elsa is Luke/Han/Leia?

Anna and Elsa are both rock stars now, and will likely be forever because of the impression they've made on this generation. If those kids have good parents, they will learn to love The Lion King, too.
