Songs that annoy Huffy Flouncers

Forum rules
We once roamed the vast forums of Corona Coming Attractions. Some of us had been around from The Before Times, in the Days of Excelsior, while others of us had only recently begun our trek. When our home became filled with much evil, including the villainous Cannot-Post-in-This-Browser and the dreaded Cannot-Log-In, we flounced away most huffily to this new home away from home. We follow the flag of Jubboiter and talk about movies, life, the universe, and everything, often in a most vulgar fashion. All are welcome here, so long as they do not take offense to our particular idiom.

I can't fucking stand that Pompeii song.
Well, I was going to use that corset photo of yours in my autoerotic activites, but now I'm just insulted.

So deal with that.

It's not like the theme of lovers eternally united in death isn't worth exploring. And unlike Goiter, I don't mind the vocals so much, but instead the sheer laziness of the song. There's clearly potential there, but it feels like they got as far as figuring out what the chorus should be, then tacked on a couple of other lines, and then said, "Welp! Good enough!"

Surely the bass guitar also features as an element. Bass isn't all about drumming.

Here's a song with some b[ad]ass drumming, since no one asked:

I'm the kind of guy who needs a little more than bass. If I don't get it, expect some carping.

Since this post is already swimming in a deep sea of try-too-hard, I'll go ahead and share this again:

Speaking of bass, "She Said She Said" is one of the very few Beatles tracks not featuring Paul on bass. It's one of the even fewer tracks, in fact, featuring no Paul at all.

The percussion is awesome in Bastille's Pompeii. And that chorus makes for excellent driving music.

Of course, every radio announcer seems compelled to talk over the entire opening, as often as not.

Ah, the female derriere. I could rhapsodize (as opposed to rap) about that subject for hours. I approve of the way women are now more commonly wearing skin tight leggings as everyday wear. It is a sign of a maturing, progressive era in Western Civilization.

The subject can be--and, famously, has been--rapped about.

A common mistake. Sir Mix-A-Lot was just a fan of oversized garden rainwater collection systems.

I was talking about Juvenile's "Back That Ass Up," A Tribe Called Quest's "Bonita Applebum," Wreckx-N-Effect's “Rump Shaker,” and Mos Def's "Ms. Fat Booty."

Who's Sir Mix-a-Lot?

Wait, hold on... You were talking about "Pompeii"?? Honestly, I had never noticed the percussion. It just sounded like standard synth arrangements.
