Funny that he thinks it is his franchise when he flounced off after FF1 and only came crawling back because his career was in the shitter.

I'd have to investigate the accuracy of that statement. Didn't he flounce off to make XXX? That did okay, right?

In the gap between Fast & Furious 1 and his triumphant return to Tokyo Drift, imdb tells me he made XXX, Chronicles of Riddick, A Man Apart, Find Me Guilty, and of course the children's classic, The Pacifier.

That's a solid stretch for any actor, Dalty. I call bullshit on your Diesel-bashing.

Riddick got trashed and cancelled the franchise for a while, and he quit the XXX franchise (and FF) to make the Pacifier. When The Pacifier flopped and Riddick didn't turn into the franchise he wanted he suddenly found that he was not the heir to Stallone and Schwarzenegger he thought he was.

A one second cameo through a window of a car is a triumphant return?

Well, Dalty sure finds him guilty.

You're taking the pessimistic view. I'd just look at Riddick and XXX as movies which launched franchises, (as of next year for XXX anyway) not movies that became franchises in spite of the movies which launched them. That's three different franchises the man is a crucial part of. That's successful by any measure.

And yes, that was a triumphant return. Unquestionably.

I saw this, thought of Adam, and laughed.

I hope they call it Fast & Furiosa.

That would be the end of me and this franchise. No question. But beyond that, I love this! Should give the films the Oscar cred they've otherwise been lacking.

I rewatched the original film last night for the first time in maybe ten years. Holds up. Walker's frost tips don't hold up, but the rest of the film is solid if not spectacular.

Charlize Theron has been cast as the Big Bad of Fast 8. http://www.theverge.com/2016/4/7/113872 ... st-villain

Finally! The film officially has some Oscar cred!

I will happily watch that. It's a good move.

What of The Stath?

Fix'd.

I'd imagine Stath is still in his prison, no?

Will The Rock be in it? I am running a little low on PURE FUCKING CHARISMA and when he is in a movie there is generally enough for all of us.

Of course he will be! I'm not clear as to when his spin-off franchise starts though.

I'm not sure how successful he was with keeping the G.I. Joe and Journey franchises going.

I think I remember something about the potential third G.I. Joe movie bringing in M.A.S.K. characters. I think this is only possible because Hasbro acquired Kenner.

He also didn't really relaunch the Witch Mountain series like Disney probably wanted him to. But they got two movies out of the Journey franchise, right? That's something.

The Rock and Vin Diesel appear to be fighting like crazy on the set of FF8.

Pretty much guarantees this will be the best one yet, doesn't it?
