The Batman TV series is coming to home video!
It's true.
I can't believe they finally worked out the rights issues.
This show meant a lot to me as a kid.

60's Batman is very little beyond a curiosity.

Re: The Batman TV series is coming to home video!
We didn't have a tv, so the only time we caught episodes was at our grandparents, which was few and far between, so obviously we'd only catch 1 of the 2 linked episodes. When we finally got cable, they'd play both linked episodes every day, and we watched pretty much all of them.
The show is so hilariously stupid that it's almost perfect. Jack and I still love listing off the reasons how Batman, Robin, Commissioner Gordon, and the Irish cop determine that the Joker, Penguin, Catwoman, and the Riddler teamed up in the movie.
Robin: "Pretty fishy what happened to me on that ladder."
Commissioner Gordon: "You mean where there's a fish, there could be a penguin?"
Batman: "Yet, an exploding shark was pulling my leg."
Commissioner Gordon: "The Joker!"
Robin: "But wait! It happened at sea! "C"? "C" for Catwoman!"
O'Hara: "It all adds up to a sinister riddle. Riddle-er. Riddler?"

Always super awesome how Batman and Robin would climb a wall at a snail's pace, and someone would always open a window and stick their entire head out the window perpendicular to the wall.

Other gems of the show are the Batmobile following a truck that disappeared when it entered a golf course (it flipped its panels to mirrors, and because it was surrounded solely by the green of the golf course, it seemed to literally disappear!), Batman counting the bullets of a machine gun Penguin was firing to know when they were out of bullets (the fact that they stopped firing was also a pretty good indication they were out), and King Tut dropping something (might've been grains of sand) onto Batman's head one at a time over brief spaces of time, so that when the thousandth one hit Batman's head, he would be insane. When Batman said something King Tut didn't like, Tut told his men to speed up the sand. I guess that means if they dropped all the sand at once, Batman would've been instantly insane.

Doesn't Batman say he kept his sanity by reciting the multiplication tables backwards? That was pretty awesome. I think he does the Batusi right before that.

Yes. That muliplication table defense would've been circumvented if King Tut had dropped all 1,000 grains of sand at once.

I used to fight with the kids in after school day care about watching this show. (And by fight, I mean whine when I didn't get my way.) My favorite was the Bat Shark Repellent.

You mean the Shark Repellent? I don't think that was from the show. I think it was exclusive to the movie, though I could be wrong. I remember it being one of four "Oceanic Repellent Bat Sprays." The other three: Barracuda Repellent, Whale Repellent, Manta-Ray Repellent.

Actually, I think they did have shark repellent in the show. There was an episode where the Joker stole some surfer's surfing ability, and so he ended up in a surf off against Batman. The Joker won the point for style, but Batman won the rest of the points, including safety (thanks to his bottle of shark repellent). Naturally Robin was the one who scored the points.

That's right!
I logged back in to say I had a foggy memory of it being used in that episode. Since you remember it too, I'll go ahead and assume it's there.
I think the Joker earned his point for being the "more colorful" surfer.

I'm pretty sure that episode was from the '67 season, so they probably just reused the movie prop.

This is the surfing scene in question. I didn't remember it quite correctly. It was Dick Grayson, not Robin, that was on the beach. Apparently he didn't actually score them, though he is quite vocal about the scoring right after this video ends, so it stands to reason I would remember that he did the scoring.
