By the way, every given name is just made-up bullshit. Some of this bullshit is just older than some of the other bullshit, so people such as Dalty automatically assign to it more legitimacy as compared with the newer bullshit. Names like Joseph, Richard, or Henry were invented at some point as well, and I'm sure that people at that time were also saying, "Who ever heard of such a ridiculous name like Henry!"

You know what I think's dumb? When people have both a surname that is commonly used as a given name and a given name that is commonly used as a surname. You know, like Clark Kent, David Keith, Keith David, and Matthew Nelson. (On the other hand, I guess I'd rather be named Matthew Nelson than Gunnar Nelson.)

Uh-huh. You realize, though, that there were pre-Biblical times and that Britain hasn't existed for the majority of human history, right? At some point, those names had to be invented as well.

Here's my response to Dalty: Ugh. It's pretty close to "Ugg," which was very likely the first name ever invented. First name or not, of course, it was still invented.

Doesn't Matthew come from "Matityahu"? Isn't changing it to Matthew (or, even worse, Matt) just as bad as a guy going from Chester to Chet or from Randal to Rand?

It'll definitely play into things. It's hard to know what went on in the in-between. I think there are already two differing accounts.

Why did the guy run? We generally have a rule over here whenever we think of travelling to the U.S. which is "Don't fuck with the American police because they are fucking idiots..... with guns!" - so you generally do whatever they ask you. You definitely don't run!

I think he had some outstanding child support payments to make. There's no way to ask him why he ran, but I believe that's the main reason people (including his family) keep floating around.
