Penny Dreadful season 2. Guy who played the black manservant of Dalton's character with the strange face dots is played by a different actor this season after the last guy got roles in Cinderella etc.

First I thought "terrible that they just substituted A. N. Other black guy into this role thinking we wouldn't notice, they must think that we think that all black guys look the same!"

Then I realised that they would have done exactly the same thing if the character was white. Therefore it doesn't matter, therefore I really shouldn't have thought that it does.

So in attempting to be not racist, I was accidentally massively racist. I am so confused and have proved Goiter correct, maybe I am a massive racist without even knowing it.

How did you feel about the Rhodey switch in the Iron Man movies?

How did you feel when the actor playing Daario Naharis on Game of Thrones was replaced. Did you think, "Were they expecting us not to notice?"

Exactly - and that is what makes me the most dangerous kind of massive racist! The one with good intentions who doesn't realise they are massively racist!

Re: Iron Man - didn't give a shit.......... fuck, potentially that makes me even worse. I will just go and get myself my Grand Wizard pillow case now to hide my shame.

Cheadle is much better as Rhodey, imho. Seems more believable as a military man. Terence Howard spent much of IM griping and moping. Very mopey portrayal.

I'm a Cheadle man. I think it was Boogie Nights that did it for me.

I didn't care much for Howard as Rhodey. There's something about Howard as an actor that puts me off, but I'm not sure exactly what that is.

Would be better if he did his English accent like in Ocean's Thirteen.

That prose doesn't inspire me to read the books.

Despite the discrepancy between his description in the book and his portrayal on the show, I felt that the original interpretation of Daario Naharis actually suited his character pretty well. You could just feel the sleaziness and narcissism. The new guy is a bit too bland, in my opinion.

Judging from the paragraph, it would have been hard for the show not to improve on the books.

I agree with Mal. The old guy was a vain and smug and arrogant bastard who somehow managed to be compelling to watch despite that. You kinda rooted for him but felt dirty doing so.

The new guy doesn't have that thing going on where you hate him but think he's a great character at the same time.

I don't see what makes the truck ghetto. It's more like redneck.

Anyway, I vote "racist."
