Looks like the NDP are ahead of the game right now. Canada may have it's first socialist government when this is over. Though, it's debatable how socialist they really are anymore...

This is clearly a response to the U.S. majority's strong anti-socialist standpoint. Canadians want the rest of the world to know Canada isn't the U.S.

You know, because the Canadian people don't do things for their own sake. Every choice they make, like every choice every other country makes, is somehow influenced--for good or ill--by the U.S.

Although, there may be some truth in your sarcastic post. Canadians are definitely aware of some troubling developments south of the border. I suppose for many, supporting the most non-American political party is an instinctive reaction.

It's got to be the most symbiotic relationship in world politics. Nobody in, say, Belgium gives that much of a shit who the Dutch elect. Or the British with the French etc.

In the more volatile areas of the world it doesn't matter because whoever they elect is still your sworn enemy.
