New car shenanigans
Forum rules
We once roamed the vast forums of Corona Coming Attractions. Some of us had been around from The Before Times, in the Days of Excelsior, while others of us had only recently begun our trek. When our home became filled with much evil, including the villainous Cannot-Post-in-This-Browser and the dreaded Cannot-Log-In, we flounced away most huffily to this new home away from home. We follow the flag of Jubboiter and talk about movies, life, the universe, and everything, often in a most vulgar fashion. All are welcome here, so long as they do not take offense to our particular idiom.

Re: New car shenanigans
In the UK Audi drivers have taken over from BMW drivers as the cliche of the overly aggressive sales-rep who drives like a bell-end and is far, far too close behind you. If they are so close in your rear view mirror you can't see the badge, they are probably a mid-level sales exec in an Audi A4 company car.

Maybe the beard is blond because Audi is German? I'm just as lost as you.

Cliche? I believe you meant "clouché."Dalty wrote:In the UK Audi drivers have taken over from BMW drivers as the cliche of the overly aggressive sales-rep who drives like a bell-end and is far, far too close behind you. This world of overly aggressive car sales reps is not my world. Feels pretty foreign to me. (Are there underly aggressive car sales reps? It seems like all car sales reps have a similar rep.
I've only been to three dealerships in my life. (Once with my grandparents in '93. Once with my father in '02 or so. The last time was last year, with Jubbers and Jubboiter. The last time was the only time where I was actually one of the people shopping. The first two times were ride-alongs. No input expected or given.) That gives me nowhere near enough experience to gather up an idea of what one dealership does or might do over another.

It's not a toy. It's a means to get you from a to b.

Mine gets me from A-B quickly. I think I might lose my licence.

Re: New car shenanigans
For much of my life, the Maserati was pretty much only a car that existed in song. Joe Walsh sang about it. Paula Abdul sang about it. Didn't see one out in the wild until I was in my twenties and in Europe.

Lucky you're sane, after all you've been through.
