BvS - Spoiler discussion

Why bother with any other forum?
Forum rules
We once roamed the vast forums of Corona Coming Attractions. Some of us had been around from The Before Times, in the Days of Excelsior, while others of us had only recently begun our trek. When our home became filled with much evil, including the villainous Cannot-Post-in-This-Browser and the dreaded Cannot-Log-In, we flounced away most huffily to this new home away from home. We follow the flag of Jubboiter and talk about movies, life, the universe, and everything, often in a most vulgar fashion. All are welcome here, so long as they do not take offense to our particular idiom.

You might like it. You might not. There's only one way to tell.

Of course, an Objectivist might object to the notion of an Objectivist feeling the need to create a secret identity, so an Objectivist might object to Snyder's and Goyer's version of Batman or Moore's Rorschach or even Ditko's Question. I feel like Moore had some fun with this in Watchmen during Rorschach's unmasking, since Rorschach clearly only feels whole when he's wearing a feature-distorting mask. ("No! My Face! Give it back!") Still, whether he likes it or not, he's inescapably someone with a secret identity.

Yeah....it just looks stupid.

I haven't even seen Deadpool yet. That's more of a priority.

I worry a bit that I'm putting too much stock by Snyder's Objectivist leanings. Well, maybe not. If he's an Objectivist to his core (I guess that's a question only he can answer), it necessarily *would* inform his output, because it couldn't not. If it didn't, it would be a betrayal of the system he professed to live by.

At this point, I feel like I need to see it just to participate in the fun discussion.

This post probably wasn't meant to flatter me, but I feel flattered.

It's possible. It could just be he's interested in Objectivism or that he has some vague inclinations in that direction. This all comes from a recent quote where he said the following:
Zack Snyder wrote:I have been working on The Fountainhead. I’ve always felt like The Fountainhead was such a thesis on the creative process and what it is to create something.

It could also be that he only thinks he knows what Objectivism is, but really doesn't -- much like how he thinks he understands superheroes, but really doesn't.
On December 20, 2019, the Greatest Saga Ever... concludes.

One thing I realised looking back on it is the apparent lack of the Daily Planet. In the Reeve movies it was an integral thing, a key central location. Clark's bumbling through the office, the awkward exchanges with Lois en route to somewhere. Perry firing off orders as Clark gets distracted by somebody in peril etc etc.

Things like that get lost when you try and do too much.

As I said before, BvS manages to accomplish something truly strange in being the first 2' 30" movie that feels too short!

My ex-boss, closet geek and CEO of a FTSE 100 company just saw it and reports "I fucking loved it!".
