We once roamed the vast forums of Corona Coming Attractions. Some of us had been around from The Before Times, in the Days of Excelsior, while others of us had only recently begun our trek. When our home became filled with much evil, including the villainous Cannot-Post-in-This-Browser and the dreaded Cannot-Log-In, we flounced away most huffily to this new home away from home. We follow the flag of Jubboiter and talk about movies, life, the universe, and everything, often in a most vulgar fashion. All are welcome here, so long as they do not take offense to our particular idiom.

Lists of Shows I Want to Watch

Post by The Swollen Goiter of God »

I'd like to try to keep lists of shows I've started but failed to finish, shows I want to catch up on, and shows I want to start. I'm going to do that here. You can do your own lists here, if you'd like.

Finish:

Sopranos
Dinosaurs
Breaking Bad
Dexter
Doogie Howser, M.D.
Deep Space Nine
Mad Men
Dead Like Me
The Time Tunnel
The Prisoner
Being Human
(UK and US)
Heroes Reborn

Catch up on:

Walking Dead
Orange Is the New Black
Rick and Morty
Archer
Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt
The Last Man on Earth
Louie

Start:

Game of Thrones
The Wire
Band of Brothers
Utopia
Mr. Robot
Boardwalk Empire
Black Mirror
Deadwood
Master of None
Horace and Pete
The Gray Ghost
True Detective

These are the ones that come to mind at the moment. I'll add more as they occur to me.

I'm a season behind on Curb Your Enthusiasm. It's unclear to me whether or not there will ever be a new season. It may also be unclear to Larry David.

I still cannot work out if I can be bothered with The Man in High Castle.

Jessica Jones awaits too.

Didn't Adam54 say watching this was pretty tremendous? If it's about politics, you should probably skip it. You know, considering Adam54's recent record.

It could be seen as a preview of America under Trump's regime, yes.

I went back and added Heroes Reborn. It just occurred to me I had a couple episodes left.

It's not really doing anything for me. Feels sort of like Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. I'm so close to being done with it, though, I feel I might as well finish it.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. also isn't really doing much for me. I'm so close to being done with it, though, I feel I might as well finish it.

Shows I want to start:
Breaking Bad

That's it, really. I've been trying to get the Mrs. to give it a shot, but she's been reluctant. And we usually watch shows together.

Well, there is one other thing: I want to catch up on South Park. I've only seen two episodes of the last season.

I just remembered to add True Detective. If I start it, I may stop with the first season. The second season doesn't look all that appealing to me.

I guess I always sort of wanted to watch Chuck and Fringe, but I'm not sure if I want to watch them badly enough to add them to the above list. I saw the first two or three episodes of Lost. I'm not sure if I want to continue. I might have wanted to continue more if I'd seen those episodes during the show's first year. I saw them a couple years after they'd aired. Spoilers were already starting to get shoved in my face on social media sites. Some of the spoilers sounded pretty dumb.

I saw an episode or two of the Battlestar Galactica reboot. It wasn't really doing much for me. May try to watch. May not.

I tried giving Fringe a chance when it came out, but couldn't get into it after a couple episodes. I may give it another shot.

Of those you mention, the BSG reboot is definitely worth sticking out.

I'd also second watching Season 1 of True Detective and not season 2. Season 1 is staggeringly good and so very dark. I've also never really had the itch to watch season 2. Or at least ta way far down on the to-do list. Speaking of...

Mal, whether the missus gets on board or not, I'd be up for starting a Breaking Bad thread here where you and I and anyone else who's yet to watch it can talk about it. I've seen about two minutes total and always wanted to try more. Seems like it'd be a perfect summer binge.

If you and Mal start Breaking Bad, I may wait until you've caught up to me to resume watching. I'm six or seven episodes into the fifth season.

I guess I still have about half a season of Fuller House to watch. I could take it or leave it.

That's totally on my list, and now that Summer's here I may finally get to it.

Maybe you guys can orchestrate some kind of watch party for the first season.

I think the third or fourth season was when it started clicking for me. There's good and bad along the way. A couple friends of mine wanted me to tell them my thoughts on the show when I started watching (they were the ones encouraging me to watch it to begin with), so I recorded a lot of those thoughts while chatting with them. The chats were independent of one another. The friends don't know one another all that well. I would sometimes cover the same ground in both chats, and I would sometimes focus on topics unique to the individual chats. A lot of the time, I was building on something the other person said. I might mine some old comments from the chats if you guys start posting about the show. I don't remember much of what I said.

It turns out I can't watch Breaking Bad legally for free. It's not included with Amazon Prime, so I'd have to pay to watch. I also haven't had Netflix in a long time. AMC has a few episodes available on their website, but it's maybe five episodes total. Looks like I'll have to go the old-fashioned route and download it.

Damn you, AMC, you made me do this!

Does this mean you, negs and I should start a thread? Shall we schedule a few episodes a week? It can be like a book club, but Cranstonier?

My Netflix is allowed for up to 5 devices...... but I fear it is geo-locked. :(

I have to work the schedule with the spousal unit, but I'll jump in when I can.

I have started "Breaking Bad"

watching the show that is.

I'm three episodes in, so far I can't see the appeal.

It takes a while to get its bearings. It has some pretty big moments toward the end of the first season. Some episodes in the third and fourth season feel pretty cinematic. Some of the characters grow on you. Walt develops in a big way.
