What are you lookin' at?! Right now...

We once roamed the vast forums of Corona Coming Attractions. Some of us had been around from The Before Times, in the Days of Excelsior, while others of us had only recently begun our trek. When our home became filled with much evil, including the villainous Cannot-Post-in-This-Browser and the dreaded Cannot-Log-In, we flounced away most huffily to this new home away from home. We follow the flag of Jubboiter and talk about movies, life, the universe, and everything, often in a most vulgar fashion. All are welcome here, so long as they do not take offense to our particular idiom.

Yup, and the second episode was Old Jake talking about his dad. Friggin' good stuff. Reminded me of "The Inner Light"

Iron Fist. Don't see what all the fuss was about. I am liking it but everyone said it was the worst thing ever.

Into a mini-binge watch. Seriously? How is this show "so terrible"? It's pretty good so far!

yeah I am about 5 or 6 episodes in myself, and I am liking it. Haven't read any online reviews to see what everyone's hate comes from. I do know some people have complained the main character isn't asian, but that seems to be pretty important to the character, so I don't know why they'd change his race.

Yeah, I didn't know the character so I looked it up on Wkipedia. Given all the fuss I was imagining he was Asian and Marvel TV has made him white...... but no, seems to have always been a white character??

Also hear a criticism of the fights - but I thought it was also pretty clear his fighting style is meant to be like that. It's a plot point. Are people actually watching or is it bandwagon jumping??

It's possible people just got spoiled on the other three shows and are now hypercritical. Maybe they feel like Iron Fist is a shank steak following on the heels of New York Strips. Shank steaks can be pretty fucking tasty, but when you're expecting a New York Strip, a shank steak can be disappointing.

(Yes, yes. They feel like they got shanked. Very clever.)

It was a really fun movie, though the trailers had me hoping for a twist that did not come.

Not that it needed it.

Netflix doc "Five Came Back," about Hollywood directors who contributed to efforts in World War II. Superlative--if you're a film buff or a history buff, check it out.

Congrats love, you have managed to photograph dust!

The Sum Of All Fears.

I remember this was unloved on release. Well....damn! Amazingly tight movie. And it's a terrifying portrayal of mistaken escalation on both sides bring us near disaster. Worth a revisit.

Never saw the movie, but I remember reading the book and finding it a pretty enthralling read.

They changed the bad guys a fair bit (now-Nazis rather than Middle Eastern) but the basic premise is the same. I had kind of forgotten it. Just watched it because I am on vacation and my holiday apartment has a DVD player in it and this was on the pile.

Next one in the series of past movies I am watching and enjoying because they were in my holiday home....

Spielberg's "War Of The Worlds"

Another one I kind of forgot after release but am really enjoying now after a few years have passed.

I am having one of those wonderful movie experiences where you have heard so many bad things and started viewing with such low expectations that you end up really, really enjoying it!!
