Farewell Dalty Cave..... Hello Dalty Manor!!

Why bother with any other forum?
Forum rules
We once roamed the vast forums of Corona Coming Attractions. Some of us had been around from The Before Times, in the Days of Excelsior, while others of us had only recently begun our trek. When our home became filled with much evil, including the villainous Cannot-Post-in-This-Browser and the dreaded Cannot-Log-In, we flounced away most huffily to this new home away from home. We follow the flag of Jubboiter and talk about movies, life, the universe, and everything, often in a most vulgar fashion. All are welcome here, so long as they do not take offense to our particular idiom.

Christ knows. The model number was way too long to remember.

Is this one of those situations where you tell us the model number is long, but then we track it down, and it's actually pretty average?

Is it a 1080p or UHD set?

We should be talking about Master Skywalker's. Master Skywalker's is bigger.

Sure, Yoda says size matters not. Then again, Yoda's tiny. A tiny guy *would* say that.

You were bragging about it in The Game Room.

He'd figure it out soon enough. If he ever chanced to look up, I mean.

Way, way up.

Because of how short he is.

It's 1080P. Bought it two and a half years ago when 4K content was so minimal I couldn't justify the extra price tag for it. 4K is still thin on the ground, content wise, so I guess that paid off!

Ah yes. UNF8000 (or the UK equivalent) it is. I was pretty sure from the design, but the 1080p resolution was the clincher. Good set.

I love it. Picture is so good. HD and BluRay look superb. 3D is active so looks great if the movie was shot native or if it's a good conversion. I have a Samsung sound bar and sub woofer but didn't get the bar mounted as I don't tend to use it much. Slightly regret it now, but it would have meant more wall channeling.

If the sub's decent, save it for your basement setup when you get a nice surround system. ;)

Super fast fibre-optic broadband installed today, thank jeebus! Living without broadband for 4 days was tough. 60 mbps so far and getting faster as it throttles up. 200 mbps is the fastest available from my local exchange so fingers crossed.

Everything in this room is the worst-possible color for having a kid. Prepare to have everything smeared, crayoned, pooped, boogered, what-the-hell-is-that'd.

Nearly finished the "settling" as in all the right furniture in the right places with the boxes unpacked. Just blinds and other cosmetic fixes to go. Then I can put my drill away and not touch it again for months..... then baby proofing will begin!

Dalty wrote:I am literally shaking with rage at the moment. Into the new place. Total refurb from ground up of old Victorian property. New electrics. New plumbing etc. Brand new inside basically and clean.

First use of brand new shower in brand new 2nd ensuite bathroom has resulted in water literally flooding into the kitchen below straight through a fancy sunken spotlight. A lot of water. Plaster wrecked. Ceiling wrecked. Light circuit wrecked.

Lawyer call tomorrow. Emergency plumber etc will be called by me and I am going after the contractor here for every fucking penny plus a lot for inconvenience.
Damn, that's horrible. Don't you Brits do house inspections before you close? That's the kind of thing they test, or should.

We did a survey. Clearly he didn't run the water in the 2nd ensuite.

All sorted, the waste out had the rubber seal in the wrong place. Fixed.
