Guardians of the Galaxy

Forum rules
We once roamed the vast forums of Corona Coming Attractions. Some of us had been around from The Before Times, in the Days of Excelsior, while others of us had only recently begun our trek. When our home became filled with much evil, including the villainous Cannot-Post-in-This-Browser and the dreaded Cannot-Log-In, we flounced away most huffily to this new home away from home. We follow the flag of Jubboiter and talk about movies, life, the universe, and everything, often in a most vulgar fashion. All are welcome here, so long as they do not take offense to our particular idiom.

But what are *her* tits like?

(I figured I'd spare someone else the indignity of making the most obvious comment.)

I'm still happy to e-mail your friends, family, and coworkers.

I was going to ask how a restaurant could have tits. Or how a restaurant could serve tits on their menu.

Now I am just thinking about tits.

What a great movie. I laughed out loud five or six times and chuckled many more. Rocket is a great character, Groot comes dangerously close to stealing the show on several occasions and am I led to believe that the guy who played Drax was an MMA fighter in his first acting role? Because you really wouldn't know. Thoroughly enjoyed that. Definite purchase on BluRay.

Also, tits!!!!

Yup. Kinda perfectly intros the character and immediately sets out the whole tone and approach. I dug it.

Remind me what happened to the Tesseract at the end of The Avengers, cos that is another infinity stone too isn't it?

From what I've heard/read, Dave Bautista (Drax) had been in five movies before this, three straight-to-video. He was in 'Riddick', I think. And I think the Tesseract (sic) was given to Thor. I think he's using it as a paperweight.

He's also a pro wrestler, not an MMA fighter.

When he's specifically not doing anything close to wrestling, which I think reinforces the point.

I don't know. Acting's a big part of professional wrestling. I feel like this is something we've already established.

Either way he was better than Bollea as Thunderlips.

Was he better than Bollea as Rip in No Holds Barred (1989)?

I feel confident saying I prefer No Holds Barred (1952) to No Holds Barred (1989), though I haven't seen No Holds Barred (1989) since the eighties.

No Holds Barred (1952) was a Bowery Boys/Dead End Kids/Little Tough Guys joint. I was a pretty big Bowery Boys fan growing up, but I didn't see No Holds Barred (1952) until a couple years ago. It's not one of the Bowery Boys movies that used to litter all the discount VHS bins. I didn't even know it existed until the age of the Internet.

Chris Jericho calls wrestling "Show biz bootcamp." I'm inclined to agree. See Johnson, Dwayne.

He (The Rock) has such a likeable personality..... but I am not sure that was the case with his wrestling personality?

People seemed to find him pretty likable--both as a heel and as a face.

When we were speaking of idiotic catchphrases from the late nineties and early aughts, I should have added the Rock's "It doesn't matter!" I think I've talked about it elsewhere on the board, so there's that.

This Mia kid seems to be the real deal:

Then again, I get the impression from watching the videos on her father's YouTube channel that he's essentially flashcarding this info to her. I don't know if she has an active relationship with comics, or if she just likes the movies and functions as a Chinese Box for all the comic trivia.

I still use some variation of "I smelled what you were cooking" in conversation to this very day. True story.
