Forum rules
We once roamed the vast forums of Corona Coming Attractions. Some of us had been around from The Before Times, in the Days of Excelsior, while others of us had only recently begun our trek. When our home became filled with much evil, including the villainous Cannot-Post-in-This-Browser and the dreaded Cannot-Log-In, we flounced away most huffily to this new home away from home. We follow the flag of Jubboiter and talk about movies, life, the universe, and everything, often in a most vulgar fashion. All are welcome here, so long as they do not take offense to our particular idiom.

I don't believe I have ever corresponded with DW. But he seems to be in the know.

I just finished ST:ID with Mrs Dalty after watching ST09 at the weekend. She declares it the superior film. She has never seen Wrath of Khan.

The real tragedy of the nuTrek phenomenon is that these are not bad movies. Not at all.

They just shouldn't carry the Star Trek logo. They should be a singular creation, a distinct brand. Then I would be less inclined to be slightly irritated by them.

Star Trek movies had been underperforming dullness for a long time and Enterprise on TV had all but killed that medium too.

Just saw Trek Beyond, and think it has a lot of the spirit of the original series.

I shall reserve judgement.

Or judgment.

Not quite sure of the spelling.

Maybe true, but it seems as though there is an NX-01 spaceship in this movie? Or something similar to it.

Just going by the trailers.

So, I saw some douche today wearing this shirt:

Now, I know bikers have some weird thing about Nazi symbols and attire without necessarily identifying themselves as white supremacists (e.g., see the SS logo on Daryl's bike on The Walking Dead), but... come on! I don't fucking care if the SS bolts are commonly used among bikers - show some cultural sensitivity and consider not putting a racist symbol on a shirt bearing a motto appropriated from a phrase used by a movement protesting racial inequality.

When he's not on a bike, he prefers to tool around in his '66 Chevelle SS.

Bikers are cunts anyway. Fat pricks tooling around on motorised children's toys. They need to work harder so they can afford a car.

I've seen so many articles telling me I've never heard of Kim Rhode that I'm beginning to suspect that I have, in fact, heard of Kim Rhode. I'm pretty sure I even saw mention of her on the CNN, Huffington Post, and Time sites, despite being told many times that the mainstream media wasn't covering her.

Isn't this basically the premise of King Ralph but with the Cabinet/Congress instead of the British Royal Family?

It would be funny if they had to kill Kal Penn off on this show, too, so he could go work for the next president.

Don't want to body shame anyone, but it seems Kal Penn has eaten all the pies that Jack Bauer hasn't!

But with fuckin' Jack Bauer instead of doughboy John Goodman! I'll give it a try.

Sheesh. Even neglet's fat shaming, now.

I suppose neglet could be associating Goodman with WWI soldiers, but I'm not sure how or why.

He did play Walker Hancock (also a St. Louis native!) in Monuments Men, but Monuments Men focuses on WWII.

I did not assert that there was anything wrong with Mr Goodman and his doughiness, just that he cannot compare with FUCKIN' JACK BAUER, especially in a "oh no I'm the last man standing what will I do" scenario, which lends itself much better to action/drama than comedy. His size is merely the point of most obvious contrast.

I've enjoyed Mr Goodman's work in many a film, especially several Coen brothers' movies. (But not King Ralph, because it sounded stupid, likely putting the emphasis on his size as part of his horrible Americanness.) His up-and-down girth makes no difference to his acting skill or my enjoyment of it.
