Current Non-Annoyance

Why bother with any other forum?
Forum rules
We once roamed the vast forums of Corona Coming Attractions. Some of us had been around from The Before Times, in the Days of Excelsior, while others of us had only recently begun our trek. When our home became filled with much evil, including the villainous Cannot-Post-in-This-Browser and the dreaded Cannot-Log-In, we flounced away most huffily to this new home away from home. We follow the flag of Jubboiter and talk about movies, life, the universe, and everything, often in a most vulgar fashion. All are welcome here, so long as they do not take offense to our particular idiom.

I refuse to watch the series or read the books until GRRM finishes them. I really hate reading a series and not being able to finish it.

This does not apply to the Harry Dresden series, though.

I sometimes wish I had not begun reading the Dresden files until it was finished. I started by reading the first six in bulk, so the sudden stop and wait for the next book to come out was agonizing.

Of course with a proposed 23 book limit I would have had to wait almost two decades and probably would have forgotten about it.

Well, I'm having so much fun reading it at the same time I had moved to Chicago that I don't mind that it's not "finished." It's more of a standalone series anyway, at least compared to most fantasies; format-wise it's more like a mystery series.

I torrented some of the audiobooks for my mother. James Marsters is the reader.

It's apparently part of a bigger thing that somehow includes both the Transformers and Ghostbusters.

Current Non-Annoyance

Live pro wrestling. Tons and tons and tons of fun. Especially sitting up in the nosebleed seats with the people who take it far less seriously than the people sitting ringside. Can't wait to go again when they come back in June.

Left my purse in a taxi on the way to meeting my spousal unit for dinner. So called my cell (left in a pocket), and five minutes later he showed up where he had dropped me off and returned my bag. I like nice people.

Is the one in Singapore an actual movie studio with a theme park attached to it, or is it just a theme park?

It's like the one in Florida, but smaller. Just a theme park.

That's what I figured. I went to Universal Studios once. I think it was the California one, though I could be mixed up. My father would know. If he weren't dead, I mean.

I had some time to read it today and it was pretty enjoyable. The plot references one of my favorite X-Files episodes, "Bad Blood," and even incorporates the characters from it. Not much really happens in the issue, but I guess that's just how things go - 22 pages isn't a lot of space to tell a big story.

I had cute small Singaporean offspring screaming loudly in the same car during both Transformers and The Mummy.

The films may be shit, but that Transformers ride is all kinds of awesome.

Current Non-Annoyance

The landlord promptly fixed the heat in my office. It's now ~72 degrees in here. A vast improvement from the 47 I walked into today. The outside temperature has also greatly improved. It WAS -7, but has now climbed all the way to +7. Victory!

Mmmmm, liking the BYOB policies of many restaurants in Chicago, which allowed spousal unit and I to split a bottle of Argentinean red while enjoying a super steak dinner at a nearby Argentinean restaurant. Burp.

I knew a guy who used to bring a bag of pee with him whenever he went into a McDonald's.
