Current Annoyances

Why bother with any other forum?
Forum rules
We once roamed the vast forums of Corona Coming Attractions. Some of us had been around from The Before Times, in the Days of Excelsior, while others of us had only recently begun our trek. When our home became filled with much evil, including the villainous Cannot-Post-in-This-Browser and the dreaded Cannot-Log-In, we flounced away most huffily to this new home away from home. We follow the flag of Jubboiter and talk about movies, life, the universe, and everything, often in a most vulgar fashion. All are welcome here, so long as they do not take offense to our particular idiom.

I was talking Bauhaus, not Him. They're both gothy, but there's a big difference.

Current Annoyance:

I only just remembered that I had rented Fast 4 sometime in December from Amazon. The rental has since expired without me ever watching it. Now, I'll either need to respend the $2.99, or be left staring at a gaping hole in my Fast & Furious viewing experience.

Current Annoyance
Here's something incredibly frustrating: I have multiple Gmail accounts. I have a real-world business account, I have an Internet business account (this one also doubles as a troll account), and I have a personal account.

You'd think it would be easy to exit out of one account and log in to another one. Well, this isn't the case at all when I'm on Chrome. It'll allow me to log me out. That's not the problem. After it allows me to log out is when it starts being an asshole. It redirects me to a log-in page specifically for the account I just logged out of. In the past, there would be some sort of a "Log in Using a Different User" button that would allow me to switch accounts. It's no longer there. The only fill-in bar I'm given is the one for the password.

The first time it happened, I very nearly went to remove all stored passwords and cookies just to be rid of the stupidity, and to see if maybe the next time I signed in I'd get a notification to stop Chrome from tying itself to one specific account. Eventually, I just said, "Fuck you, Chrome," opened a different browser, and logged in to my other Gmail account that way.

They do offer you the option, once you're logged in to Chrome, to log in to multiple Gmail accounts, but I don't want to be logged in to multiple accounts at once. I want to be logged out of all but one.

I discovered after some annoyed clicking around that they offer a way to switch accounts, but it's really fucking obnoxious. The last time I logged out, I noticed there was a pop-up box with the following text: "We've remembered your account on this device to make your future sign-ins easier. Just enter your password to sign back in." Then there was a hyperlink what read "Learn more."

When you click to learn more, you're essentially just told to click the "Manage accounts on this device" hyperlink on the sign-in page. Once you do that, you're offered "Add account" and "Remove" options. No. Again, fuck you, Chrome. I will not.

First of all, Chrome, your "this device" bullshit is bullshit. I'm on a browser on a fucking PC. Stop talking like I'm using an app on a tablet. You and the rest of the computing world tried to fart your fancy tablet computing in my face a couple years ago, but I wouldn't have it. It's not for me. You've failed, Your Highness. I am a computer user, like my father before me. Second of all, I don't want to add accounts. I don't want everything I do while I'm logged in to my Gmail account(s) to be tied to me no matter where I go and no matter whose computer I'm logged in to. And what if a friend wants to check his Gmail account? Does he really have to add his shit to my browser and then remove it when he's done? Shit. Third of all, fuck you, Chrome.

There was a brief time when other, non-Chrome browsers didn't remember your Gmail account. You logged out of Gmail, and you were taken to a sign-in page that didn't "know" you. It looks like this is no more. It's now the same on other browsers as it is on Chrome.

Goddamn, Chrome.

I mean, I'm sure I could go into the settings and click a few things to prevent this from happening. It just sucks that it's the default.

It's Google snooping on your bowel habits. It will help them target toilet roll adverts at you.

Joke's on them. I only poop once a week. And Jubbers's mom was the one who bought us our last rolls of toilet paper.

I don't think I've had this issue pop up. I have several Gmail accounts, too, and every time I log out, I'm sent to the log-in page where I can enter my user name and password.

You can also still use Chrome to post on Corona. Maybe you're just the luckiest Chrome user on the planet.

When my son was young, he only felt comfortable pooping in his home potty, so to speak. So when he was six and we took a two-week trip to Belgium and Germany, I was astounded that he went almost the whole way without pooping. Finally, two days before our trip back home, he wasn't feeling well. I suggested he might want to try the potty, and lo! the pain was gone. I remain amazed at his ability to hold his poop for 10 or 11 days, though. It was a feat worthy of a hero.
