Current Mixed Feelings
Forum rules
We once roamed the vast forums of Corona Coming Attractions. Some of us had been around from The Before Times, in the Days of Excelsior, while others of us had only recently begun our trek. When our home became filled with much evil, including the villainous Cannot-Post-in-This-Browser and the dreaded Cannot-Log-In, we flounced away most huffily to this new home away from home. We follow the flag of Jubboiter and talk about movies, life, the universe, and everything, often in a most vulgar fashion. All are welcome here, so long as they do not take offense to our particular idiom.

Re: Current Mixed Feelings
You could always go with "Warm greetings" or "Best wishes" if you want to be a bit less distant than when using "Best," but more distant than when using "Love." The former two always strike me as familiar, but not too presumptuous about your relationship with the other person.

Re: Current Mixed Feelings
Before "Best," I used to go with "Closing." Because that's what it was.

Re: Current Mixed Feelings
Perhaps I could use "Baddest", subtly asking "who is the baddest?"
Though I suspect the answer would not be me.

Luv.
It says I kinda feel something for you because I have to - but I wouldn't take a bullet for you just yet and you need to work harder.

Oh yeah, that's what I was looking for.
Dalty, that definition of 'Luv' sounds perfect.
Hmm, my business cards say "Man of the Century". I may just go with that.

Should I buy opening night tickets for Star Wars on Kijiji, or would that be the height of idiocy?

It's only active in certain countries, like Canada and Korea.
Puts on hipster affectation... It's not as mainstream as Craigslist so you haven't heard of it.

Craigslist is OK, as long as you don't tell anyone about it.

Re: Current Mixed Feelings
I'm going to quote Goiter from the Guns thread:
It's been a massive amount of visits to various doctors/special ed specialists, and a massive amount of paperwork. It seems like we have a neverending amount of appointments and paperwork awaiting us too. She has a battery of ability tests lined up later next week for special education evalutaion. She will be getting genetic testing done and will also see a neurologist at some point, which should give us a little more insight into her particular brand of autism. I am relieved that we have an official diagnosis now, because that means we will be able to start getting her some of the therapies that she really needs (esp. with regards to speech and behavior).
What really annoys me: because of thoughts like what Goiter expressed above, among others, Goiter's mother wants us to keep this somehow secret from Goiter's grandmother. This is why there has been nothing about this at all on Facebook. We will be spending five days in Alabama at the end of December. I will probably be fuming the whole time.
Just a few of days ago, Jubboiter was officially diagnosed with autism. She's very intelligent, and that places her on the "high-functioning" side of things, but she can only communicate with us in single or double-word utterances and often doesn't understand when we talk to her. The psychiatrist remarked that usually with kids like her, you end up with "little professors" who speak precousiously and copiously, but there is some sort of disconnect between thinking-Jubboiter and speaking-Jubboiter. She's also very physical (violent, even - though it's clear she's not malicious - Mal has experienced this first hand). She cannot deviate from a lot of routines. She has things she's extremely obsessed about. Etc etc.The Swollen Goiter of God wrote:There was a huge stigma attached to psychiatry where I grew up. I'm pretty sure I've already mentioned this on the boards, but in Crossville, Alabama, psychiatry continues to be seen as a fancy bit of nonsense for rich people and city folk. If you had mental problems, it was because you were either a "retard" or a "pussy."

Re: Current Mixed Feelings
Saw the new Star Wars, which is good.
But there was supposed to be a troop of professional cosplayers, I got my camera ready and everything.
Got there and nothing. Went into the theater and nothing. Eventually a woman came in and said that since it was a troop and they travel together they had all come down with the flu, except for one or two who might show up.
They did not.
Also, I had to get into a bit of a raised voice contest with some jerks who tried to take our seats. Twice.

Aren't professional cosplayers "actors" ?
