What Are You Watching Right Now - The Watching Dead
Forum rules
We once roamed the vast forums of Corona Coming Attractions. Some of us had been around from The Before Times, in the Days of Excelsior, while others of us had only recently begun our trek. When our home became filled with much evil, including the villainous Cannot-Post-in-This-Browser and the dreaded Cannot-Log-In, we flounced away most huffily to this new home away from home. We follow the flag of Jubboiter and talk about movies, life, the universe, and everything, often in a most vulgar fashion. All are welcome here, so long as they do not take offense to our particular idiom.

It wasn't R-rated. Everything must now be a hard-R rated movie.Dalty wrote:Tomorrowland

That reminds me - I saw Adventureland recently. It was pretty decent.Dalty wrote:Tomorrowland

Jesse Eisenberg can play only one character, though. Martin Starr's character in this movie looks a lot like a mutual acquaintance of Goiter's, atrejub's, and mine.
Guess who:

It's no wonder studio heads just retreat into superhero franchises.Space Tycoon wrote:It wasn't R-rated. Everything must now be a hard-R rated movie.Dalty wrote:Tomorrowland

Venom. The 1981 house siege / Black Mamba on the loose thriller. Haven't seen this before but it's got quite a backstory.
Ollie Reed was at his hell raising best when making this, and he and Klaus Kinski detested each other so much. It really comes across with the scenes with the two of them in it.
Also, they used a real Black Mamba in all the snake scenes with the chief snake wrangler from London Zoo involved. Pretty fucking terrifying. Wouldn't have got me on that set for $$$$$ !!!!

I finally have my TV back to myself (parents snowbird at my house over the winter) and caught up on Agent Carter. Watched several episodes on Agents of SHIELD and Star Wars Rebels.

I have my mum staying with me for two nights post eye-op (hers, not mine) starting tomorrow. Prepared for Downton repeats instead of Walking Dead catch up!

John Oliver just seemed to completely slay the entire GOP proposal that the Scalia not be replaced by Obama on LWT.
Out of interest, can they actually stop anything?

They can. It would be unprecedented, but they can.
Well, I'll rephrase that. It would not be unprecedented if they voted down whomever Obama nominates. It would be completely unprecedented if they didn't even give that person a vote.

And if they fart-arse about until after that 22nd July notional line in the sand? What happens if they keep voting it down? Can they vote it down? Forever?

Re: What Are You Watching Right Now - The Watching Dead
I haven't heard of this particular line in the sand, so I couldn't say, but yes. They can vote it down forever. They're cheating death with it though. If, say, President Sanders and a Democratic Senate get into office next year, they're gonna get somebody faaaaaaaaaaaarrrrr more liberal on the Court than whatever middle-left person Obama would nominate.
But Sanders isn't a black Muslim, so it'd be okay! Better even!

Humetewa would be a solid nomination. It would be a PR nightmare for the party if they tried to vote her potential nomination down.
