Adam's Free Screenings Thread

We once roamed the vast forums of Corona Coming Attractions. Some of us had been around from The Before Times, in the Days of Excelsior, while others of us had only recently begun our trek. When our home became filled with much evil, including the villainous Cannot-Post-in-This-Browser and the dreaded Cannot-Log-In, we flounced away most huffily to this new home away from home. We follow the flag of Jubboiter and talk about movies, life, the universe, and everything, often in a most vulgar fashion. All are welcome here, so long as they do not take offense to our particular idiom.

Re: Adam's Free Screenings Thread
To this day I legitimately can't remember which one is which. White House Down was Jamie Foxx and Olympus Has Fallen was Shut Up Buttwad?

He did a REMARKABLE job of keeping it spoiler free. Until a few weeks later when they had a podcast only spoilerific review, with spoiler alerts which had me near tears from laughter. Catch up!

Re: Adam's Free Screenings Thread
Unless I'm wildly mistaken, it was the January 8th episode with Eddie Redmayne. In the podcast extra during the last 15-20 minutes or so.

I think that's the one (with Gerard Butler) that I live-commented on after several glasses of wine. It was pretty fun, if dumber than a bag of hammers.Dalty wrote:Like F&F, the first one was stupid silliness of the highest order but entertaining as fuck. I also enjoyed "White House Down" though so who am I to judge anything?

Re: Adam's Free Screenings Thread
Ah yes, here it is:
7:39 pm Olympus Has Fallen. Only 10 minutes in, but I can already tell it's soooo bad and I'm soooo drunk it's going to be AWESOME!
7:43 pm I mean, first five minutes and you have Aaron Eckhart, Gerard Butler, and Dylan McDermott. So MANLY! And then they kill off a lady to make it more manly! How can it now be awesome?
7:43 pm I bet shit blows up.
7:48 pm And now Butler is all covered in stubble. This movie was definitely not made for chicks.
7:50 pm Morgan Freeman! Who cares about no-name lady Sec of State, we have mutherfuckin' God in the cabinet!
Or something. I'm too tipsy to notice.
7:51 pm Oh, sad Gerard Butler has shaved and is at a desk job. So sad.
7:55 pm Oh, and I saw Divergent today. Hadn't read the books, and thought movie was too long, especially since I had to get a cab to make my Yoga and Wine Tasting class. But I totally get why people are talking about Theo James. It doesn't come across in photos as much, but on film that dude is totally HOTT, like panty-moistening hot.
Did I mention I was tipsy? Just a bit? But I wasn't when Theo made me flush like I was having a hot flash. DAMN.
7:58 pm Dafuq? Says Gerard. No one noticed this big-ass fucking plane until it was 2 minutes away from the White House, shooting shit up?
Movies like this are best watched drunk. (takes another sip.)
7:58 pm Ah, now I see how Goits and Dalty get those high post counts, just talk to yourself all the time.
7:59 pm And shit is done gettin' blowed up. Fuck yeah!
8:05 pm Gerard: good thing I'm wearing black, the blood doesn't show up!
8:17 pm Does Rick Yune get tired of playing Asian bad guy? Evidently not.
9:27 pm Netflix, you fail me. Obviously now I need to watch the Channing Tatum White House movie, but where is it? You offer me nothing with the wondrous abs of Mr Tatum. I am sad. Or possibly drunk.

The post count's not the shameful thing in my case. In my case, the shameful thing's the word count.neglet wrote:7:58 pm Ah, now I see how Goits and Dalty get those high post counts, just talk to yourself all the time.

Also on this week's show, Mystic Mark boldly declares that he is 100% confident that Donald Trump will not win the Republican nomination.
I'm telling you, Dalty, you need to get caught up. The man is wise.

I don't have enough time in my podcast schedule to stay on top of this now Chris Moyles is back. I will, however, always catch one of your recommendations.

Re: Adam's Free Screenings Thread
This Friday's was one of their better episodes, honestly. Mark was particularly crotchety, Simon was masterful at egging him on, and they started a new segment called "Mystic Mark" in which Mark will predict the future. I don't believe they gave it a name, but they also introduced a segment in which Mark gave advice on things which he knows nothing about. Plumbing, in this instance. His reaction when emails started flying in from actual plumbers certainly helped with the crotchety.
Well worth a listen, but if you're pressed for time, just give the YouTube link up there a look for a good Kermodian rant.

Was the tweet in any way related to a court order to keep a certain number of miles away from him?

Well, keep your fingers crossed. Maybe Kermode has plans for a future court order.
