The Breakfast Cereal Roundup

We once roamed the vast forums of Corona Coming Attractions. Some of us had been around from The Before Times, in the Days of Excelsior, while others of us had only recently begun our trek. When our home became filled with much evil, including the villainous Cannot-Post-in-This-Browser and the dreaded Cannot-Log-In, we flounced away most huffily to this new home away from home. We follow the flag of Jubboiter and talk about movies, life, the universe, and everything, often in a most vulgar fashion. All are welcome here, so long as they do not take offense to our particular idiom.

I think it's perfectly acceptable to microwave a pop tart. It takes less time than a toaster anyway.

I'd microwave a pop tart before I microwaved a waffle.

Re: The Breakfast Cereal Roundup
Can the grammar nerds help me out? Do we have to spell it "Pop Tart" because that's the brand name, or is "pop tart" acceptable as well because that's the actual name of the food?

Re: The Breakfast Cereal Roundup
My understanding is that it must be Pop Tart, because the food is not a pop tart. It is a Pop Tart brand toaster pastry.Adam54 wrote:Can the grammar nerds help me out? So if you go generic you must ask people if they want a toaster pastry.
of course that's pretty pedantic.

I'm impatient. I break it half, then nuke it for 5-10 seconds. The Swollen Goiter of God wrote:If I ever used the toaster for a Pop Tart, Jubbers would never again be able to use the toaster. That wouldn't be nice. It's best just not to have a toaster.
Or I used to. I'm too old to waste calories on delicious trash like Pop Tarts any more. I save them for quality sugar products.

I use up most of my daily allowance in my morning bucket of coffee.

Sugar in your coffee?? No thank you.
I'm aiming to find you some Cocoa Puffs Bars and a small bowl of Fruity Pebbles at some point today and will then get the goods headed your way tomorrow if all is successful!

Sugar belongs in tea. And breakfast cereal. Little else and definitely not coffee.

I was that way once, and I guess I do still enjoy a high priced Starbucksy type drink from time to time. But sugar in your everyday, make it at home coffee? No no no no no. No. Not a chance.

I have to put at least five packets of sugar in a cup of coffee before it becomes palatable.

Re: The Breakfast Cereal Roundup
I creamer it. I have my first cup (by which I mean I measure out a cup) with creamer. I may have it with a packet of saccharine, or I may not. If I have a second cup, I go unsweet.
I drink half a liter of green tea a day. I don't sweeten it or creamer it. Nothing makes it taste better. It tastes best to me (still doesn't taste good) unadorned and cold.
I drink them for their health benefits. I don't drink them for their flavor.
It's for the look. I don't light it.

I like the brown-sugar-cinnamon poptarts cold. Don't think I've really tried any other one.

If you brush your teeth and floss regularly, you can consume as much sugar as you want. The coffee itself is probably just as bad for your teeth's health. It tends to stain teeth, and its acidity damages the enamel.

Re: The Breakfast Cereal Roundup
Well that's exactly what I was thinking! The coffee is bad enough for your teeth, but all that sugar besides? A recipe for disaster which I'm glad you've avoided so far.
Full disclosure: I do add half and half to my black coffee. I'm still not to the point of being able to just drink it black.
Oh and the makers of flavored coffees are the first to be deported after I take over the country. I'm fine with having the option to add in flavor via creamers to coffee, but it should NOT be built into the coffee bean itself. That's just wrong.

My favorite flavors of poptarts were smores and blueberry. I generally had them cold.

I'm not much of a coffee drinker anyway. I only drink it if I absolutely need the caffeine because I really don't like it, but it's more effective than soda and less vile than energy drinks.Adam54 wrote:Well that's exactly what I was thinking! I've never tried that 5-hour energy drink, but it seems like it could be potentially dangerous.

After I take over the country, I'm going to deport all the people who've ever said they were going to deport people for perceived aesthetic slights. I'm including myself.
