We once roamed the vast forums of Corona Coming Attractions. Some of us had been around from The Before Times, in the Days of Excelsior, while others of us had only recently begun our trek. When our home became filled with much evil, including the villainous Cannot-Post-in-This-Browser and the dreaded Cannot-Log-In, we flounced away most huffily to this new home away from home. We follow the flag of Jubboiter and talk about movies, life, the universe, and everything, often in a most vulgar fashion. All are welcome here, so long as they do not take offense to our particular idiom.

Ahhh, better wait for him to catch up. But I know what you mean. When that dragon from GoT turned up in TWD I thought it was the most audacious TV crossover I had ever seen!

Well, even by TWD standard this episode is pretty unpleasant.

Why, yes. Yes it was.Dalty wrote:Oooooh, at some point Carol is going to go "Full Carol" on their asses and it's going to be beautiful!
While the end promises to be bloody, I hope it isn't another "is he or isn't he" tease like Glenn.

There was a voice over the end credits saying "you're going to be OK"

That was the most horribly bleak and depressing TV show I have watched that wasn't the news.

Re: Ye Olde Walking Dead Spoiler Thread
I've seen quite a few people complain about the cliffhanger, but at this point I don't think it matters *who* was killed as much as the fact that they have no power against Negan.
That said, Abraham seems the most likely candidate. Defiant, and just that same episode said he was hopeful enough for the future to have kids.

Re: Ye Olde Walking Dead Spoiler Thread
My coworkers were also complaining about the fact that they concealed the identity of the character who gets Lucille'd. They were making the point that it was already enough of a cliffhanger without that element, since we're left with the protagonists in a hopeless-looking situation.neglet wrote:I've seen quite a few people complain about the cliffhanger, but at this point I don't think it matters *who* was killed as much as the fact that they have no power against Negan.
I made the argument that complaining about the concealment of the character who died is missing the point. To me, the point of that final shot was to present Negan from the perspective of the character getting smacked. Showing him this way makes him appear even more menacing and godlike to the viewers, since we are placed in the shoes of that character and it appears as if Negan is attacking us directly. It just escalates the tension and horror of this entire final sequence.

And the worst thing is that the team kinda brought this on themselves.

5 minutes in, and they have taken a "Blue Balls" approach. If they drag this out to the end of the season with some bloody time-jumpy stuff.........

Thoughts.....
That was a really, really tough and unpleasant watch. Negan is catapulted directly into one of the slots in the top ten bad guys ever on TV. Hateful as Joffrey, manipulative as Loki.
Rick was utterly broken and as a viewer you felt totally helpless with him.
