We once roamed the vast forums of Corona Coming Attractions. Some of us had been around from The Before Times, in the Days of Excelsior, while others of us had only recently begun our trek. When our home became filled with much evil, including the villainous Cannot-Post-in-This-Browser and the dreaded Cannot-Log-In, we flounced away most huffily to this new home away from home. We follow the flag of Jubboiter and talk about movies, life, the universe, and everything, often in a most vulgar fashion. All are welcome here, so long as they do not take offense to our particular idiom.

Re: Adam's Free Screenings Thread
It occurs to me that I've never sat down and listed out which Woody Allen movies (whether he directed, starred in, wrote, or did some mix of all of the above) I've seen. I'll give it a whirl. These are the ones I've seen (I'll leave out the ones I've only seen, thanks to TV broadcasts or YouTube, in part):
What's New Pussycat?
What's Up, Tiger Lily?
Casino Royale
Bananas
Play It Again, Sam
Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Sex* (*But Were Afraid to Ask)
Sleeper
Love and Death
Annie Hall
Manhattan
Stardust Memories
Zelig
The Purple Rose of Cairo
Hannah and Her Sisters
Radio Days
New York Stories (segment)
Crimes and Misdemeanors
Shadows and Fog
Husbands and Wives
Manhattan Murder Mystery
Bullets over Broadway
Mighty Aphrodite
Everyone Says I Love You
Deconstructing Harry
Wild Man Blues
Celebrity
The Impostors (actor only)
AntZ (voice actor only)
Sweet and Lowdown
Small Time Crooks
The Curse of the Jade Scorpion
Hollywood Ending
Anything Else
Match Point
Scoop
Whatever Works
Midnight in Paris
To Rome with Love
Blue Jasmine
I pretty much just copied and pasted his filmography from Wikipedia and only kept the ones I was certain I'd seen from start to finish.
It surprises me that I've seen as many of Allen's movies as I have. I figured I'd seen a couple dozen, tops, but it turns out I've seen almost forty.
I wouldn't mind seeing some of them again. Some of them--Small Time Crooks and The Curse of the Jade Scorpion, in particular--have bled together a bit over time. Some of them--like Zelig, Manhattan Murder Mystery, Hannah and her Sisters, and Bullets over Broadway--I barely remember. Some of the ones I haven't seen I have no desire to see.
It's a mixed bag of a filmography, but the guy's made some real standouts. Crimes and Misdemeanors is one of my all-time favorite movies.
Here's something that has nothing to do with anything:
For years, I mixed up Zelig and Yentl. I recognized them as distinct pictures, but I'd hear someone mention the title of one of the two, and it would take the person saying a bit more before I'd remember which was which. Not sure why the slip-up. Maybe it's because the titles are both disyllabic Jewish names that start with letters close to the end of the alphabet, they both deal with identity, and they both came out in '83. They're also both very different movies.

I really, really enjoyed both Blue Jasmine and Match Point. Vicky Christina Barcelona was pretty meh, I enjoyed Scoop, tolerated Annie Hall for the most part, but couldn't stand Midnight in Paris. It was Woody Allen directing Owen Wilson in playing the role of Woody Allen. FAR too much neurosis.

If you really want to see an actor in a Woody Allen movie who is not Woody Allen but is playing Woody Allen, watch Kenneth Branagh in Celebrity:

I like Kenneth Branagh. Kenneth Branagh is a fine performer.
Please don't make me click that link and ruin my high esteem for Kenneth Branagh.

As I mentioned to Goiter last night, I think Blue Jasmine is the one I like least of the ones I've seen. Loved Midnight in Paris. I think we're just opposites, Adam, in terms of viewing tastes.

Hey, that's fair enough. I think it just boils down to whether or not you can handle him on screen or not and I'm just in the camp which cannot.
At least we'll always have common ground like Fast & Furious to fall back on, right?

I've so far only seen one of those (the fifth one), back when Goiter and I were catching at least one movie a week, but I enjoyed it.

You also sort of stumbled into watching the one the majority of critics and audience members consider to be the best of the series, so you have that going for you.

Fast Five is the one that got my love affair with the series started! I think Six may be my favorite overall, but it's certainly debatable.
Actually, no. I just remembered Vin's tortured monologue about how his father used to barbecue for the whole neighborhood after church on Sundays. Fast Five is the best for that alone.

We got to the theater ~45 minutes pre-showtime last night and were greeted by a line out the door and around the corner. Apparently people started lining up ~4 hours in advance in the 100 degree heat to see Cafe Society and we were unable to make it in.
