We once roamed the vast forums of Corona Coming Attractions. Some of us had been around from The Before Times, in the Days of Excelsior, while others of us had only recently begun our trek. When our home became filled with much evil, including the villainous Cannot-Post-in-This-Browser and the dreaded Cannot-Log-In, we flounced away most huffily to this new home away from home. We follow the flag of Jubboiter and talk about movies, life, the universe, and everything, often in a most vulgar fashion. All are welcome here, so long as they do not take offense to our particular idiom.

Ueda Apologizes for Last Guardian Delay

Post by The Swollen Goiter of God »

I've never played any of the Ico games, but I've watched people play them. I've enjoyed watching.

A year ago, Jubbers and I bought a used PlayStation 2. Games for it were pretty cheap. One of the games I got was Shadow of the Colossus. I'm pretty far removed from the modern gaming world. I realize the PS2 is now two generations old, but I thought playing some games for it would be a good toe-dip into modern gaming's waters.

Playing games proved to be pretty impossible with Jubboiter around, but these days, she actually sleeps at night. Maybe we can try to play some of those games we bought.

I was never all that good at playing games in 3-D environments using a game pad. I got used to playing them on the computer with a mouse/keyboard combination, so the game pad just doesn't seem as intuitive for me. Shadow of the Colossus, though, was one of the games that made me want to get better at playing 3-D games on consoles (that and Prince of Persia: Sands of Time). It's a shame that The Last Guardian seems to be stuck in development hell. From the trailer I saw in 2009, it looked like it was practically done - I wonder what's delaying it. The bigger question is whether it will seem dated by the time it does come out, assuming it does come out.

Ueda says his "creative work" on it was completed a long time ago. I'm not sure exactly what he means by that. Story? Design? Both? Something else entirely?
