The Pro Wrestling Thread

Forum rules
We once roamed the vast forums of Corona Coming Attractions. Some of us had been around from The Before Times, in the Days of Excelsior, while others of us had only recently begun our trek. When our home became filled with much evil, including the villainous Cannot-Post-in-This-Browser and the dreaded Cannot-Log-In, we flounced away most huffily to this new home away from home. We follow the flag of Jubboiter and talk about movies, life, the universe, and everything, often in a most vulgar fashion. All are welcome here, so long as they do not take offense to our particular idiom.

Just in case that's not a thing done elsewhere, I should mention that US Southerners often like to "joke" by following an A with a 2 when listing things. It used to be done with a knowing nod. I think a lot of the kids who do it these days, though, just picked it up from older generations. For all I know, these kids think that's the way it's supposed to be done.

Those names are all replacement names. They're the German versions of names for some of the characters who frequent Duckburg/the Barksian Donald Duck universe.

Missed my Lucha Underground this week and had to go looking online for it.

Thought y'all might be interested in Pentagon Dark (I know, sounds like a candy bar) facing off against a succession of sexy, leather-clad, ninja ladies.

Smackdown is coming to the Twin Cities for the first time in I don't know how long! In St. Paul instead of Minneapolis, no less! The Phenomenal One will be in the Twin Cities at last!

Skywalker! Get up here! Let's go!

Adam, did you see that they're going to have a WWE UK Championship? They're bringing together a bunch of indy wrestlers from the UK to compete for it on the WWE Network.

It doesn't seem like something that will be defended on RAW or Smackdown, so I'm wondering what the point of it is.

In other news, the New Day passed Demolition's record as the longest-reigning tag team champs in WWE history. Personally, I hope they drop it at Roadblock. As much as I like them and their gimmick, they've become overexposed and are holding the entire RAW tag division back. Time for them to chase the titles for a change.
On December 20, 2019, the Greatest Saga Ever... concludes.

I initially wrote a really long post full of Cena quotes and peppered with Cena videos, but you never responded to it. Not sure why. It's still there, in fact.

I HAVE to imagine they drop soon now that they've got the record. You're quite right. Having them chase the titles from someone (Gallows and Anderson, probably? Enzo and Cass, maybe?) would freshen up what's become easily the worst of the shows. Also, is the Cass singles push beginning already? I'm not done with him and Enzo yet! Though Enzo would be an AWESOME cruiserweight addition.

The point of the UK Championship seems obvious to me. It's a gift to the stockholders from Vince & HHH.

"Hi everybody! We're trying to expand the Network globally here! We're gonna do it, one country title at a time!"

Speaking of the Network, I'm quite intrigued by the idea of the women's tournament they're supposedly gonna run. That should be awesome.

At an Xmas party right now and one of our PMO lads is a massive fan and is stupidly excited about this UK thing.

Strangely he is now a massive fan of Adam too and says I should be nicer to him about wrestling.

YES! I'm a fan of his as well!! And yes you totally should be nicer to Adam about wrestling! The whole world should! Ask him if he thinks Nigel McGuinness will ever actually wrestle in WWE. Who do I need to look out for in this tournament?? I know very little about the UK Indie scene.

Can I bet on the shark? Actually, if it's a cage then all the water will run out and the shark will die. I change my mind. I bet on the man.
