What are you lookin' at?! Right now...

We follow the flag of Jubboiter and talk about movies, life, the universe, and everything, often in a most vulgar fashion. Just got home from watching Logan at the theatre. Damn. That was an unexpectedly hard watch and really quite emotional. I am staggered.

Part of it may be because you're now a daddy.

Speaking of which: How the hell did you manage to go to the theater, anyway? Did you just leave the missus and the kid at home? No, wait - you never go to the movies by yourself. Wait a minute... YOU LEFT THE KID AT HOME BY HIMSELF??

It's was a trip with the guys - all Dads, all out on a one-time pass from their partners.
I found the Professer X / dementia portrayal both convincing and heartbreaking as my Dad is at almost exactly the same stage himself with dementia. Patrick Stewart nailed it and I found it fairly tough to watch, and I am not particularly over emotional.
You are right about the parent thing. I was thinking about that as I left the theatre and I think I had a stronger reaction to the kids in peril thing than I ever have before. Very strange.

Certainly lasts longer and is considerably more expensive than a trip to the movies.

Wen't and saw "Logan" myself today. Pretty good, not sure I really liked it though. A couple of aspects really pull me in two different directions.
I have never had a tougher time going home after a movie in my life.
Right there with you. When I manage to have a free afternoon to escape the hell of my life, I dislike watching actors I like suffering from the hell that is my grandmother's life.

I agree, several element of Logan hit close to home. My father is in a similar situation.

Similar things were going on with my father, but it wasn't senility. It was brain cancer. Brain tumors pull you out of time and make you say some weird shit. I actually transcribed some of it for posterity's sake.

His movement from tired and supine to belligerent and angry while being a shadow of his former self...... Stewart was amazing.

I can't wait to see him bring all that talent and gravitas to his role as Poop in The Emoji Movie: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt4877122/?ref_=nv_sr_1

Watching the news. Appears to have been a small terror incident at Parliament.

So "Grimm" finally revealed its own fictional nature.
It wasn't the use of magic, or outlandish situations, or that people turn into animals.
It's the notion that there is help for the families of dementia patients.

Better Call Saul, season 2. Worthy successor (predecessor?) to Breaking Bad.

Man, "Deep Space Nine" season four really kicks off with a couple of strong episodes.
