UK Election Time....... again!

Forum rules
We once roamed the vast forums of Corona Coming Attractions. Some of us had been around from The Before Times, in the Days of Excelsior, while others of us had only recently begun our trek. When our home became filled with much evil, including the villainous Cannot-Post-in-This-Browser and the dreaded Cannot-Log-In, we flounced away most huffily to this new home away from home. We follow the flag of Jubboiter and talk about movies, life, the universe, and everything, often in a most vulgar fashion. All are welcome here, so long as they do not take offense to our particular idiom.

UK Election Time....... again!

Post by Dalty »

In the Blue Corner - Theresa May. Conservative which in modern U.K. politics means she is roughly in the same place on the political spectrum as Barrack Obama was.

In the Red Corner - Jeremy Corbyn. A proper old fashioned Socialist which means he is way to the left of that diet-Coke Socialism that Bernie Sanders was going on about.

Seven weeks ago May was 27 points ahead. In one poll this last week that was down to 1 point.

This is going to get messy....... or interesting!

Exit poll looking bad for Theresa May. If that poll plays out across the country then they are still the largest party but she has lost her majority. That means she has to go.

Wowzers. Will this slow down the Brexit, do you suppose? Or is everything just too confused to predict what's next?

Hung parliament.

Can form a coalition with the DUP in Northern Ireland and just about get a majority as that coalition. Depends what her party say. They could boot her after this if she refuses to quit.

Thing was she wanted to make the election all about Brexit, and the electorate seem to have said "Fuck off.... we voted on that last year! Talk to us about something else." And when she didn't, she got a bloody nose.
