We once roamed the vast forums of Corona Coming Attractions. Some of us had been around from The Before Times, in the Days of Excelsior, while others of us had only recently begun our trek. When our home became filled with much evil, including the villainous Cannot-Post-in-This-Browser and the dreaded Cannot-Log-In, we flounced away most huffily to this new home away from home. We follow the flag of Jubboiter and talk about movies, life, the universe, and everything, often in a most vulgar fashion. All are welcome here, so long as they do not take offense to our particular idiom.

I'll take this over The New Adventures Of Super Boy any day. Even with the BWOM!

Re: Gotham
So, is this Fox's super-delayed response to Smallville?
Seems pretty lame to me. Looks like a cop drama with a layer of Batman lore pasted on top of it. They'll bring in characters you recognize every once in a while, but it's not like they can make use of any of the villains before they're actually the villains they will eventually become. If the show goes into really stupid territory, it will try to tie everything that happens later to moments in the past which somehow connect either to Jim Gordon or to Bruce Wayne.

Re: Gotham
Looks pretty cool to me.
That said, I was under the impression that this series was intended to be intrinsically linked to the Nolan trilogy, almost a prequel. This doesn't seem to quite be.

Re: Gotham
Also, it looks like this is only a tv movie, perhaps one that will lead into a series.

Re: Gotham
Did anyone else watch this last night? I thought it was fairly decent, not amazing but worth following to see where it leads.
The first 5 minutes have more blood than the entire Dark Knight Trilogy.

Kah watched it. She was unimpressed, but she figures she will stay with it for a while.

I'm aiming to watch it soon. Early ratings make me think it's safe from my curse.

Agents of Shield finished season 1 strong.
Season 2, Ep 1 just about put me to sleep.

Re: Gotham
I gave up on that one roughly six episodes in last year for the very same reason. Boring, boring, boring super hero show.

Re: Gotham
The first half of season 1 was pretty bad. Their saving grace was the awesomeness of Capt America 2, which they were able to weave the second half of the season around (and they did a good job with it, too). Plus Bill Paxton was the bad guy which makes it automatically watchable.
He's gone now, so it's back to being kinda bland and boring.

Gotham? Judging by some of the performances, they should have called it Got Ham!Space Tycoon wrote:Did anyone else watch this last night? I thought it was fairly decent, not amazing but worth following to see where it leads.

Just kidding. I didn't see it, but I needed to get that joke out of my system.

I'm fairly certain The Joker was the guy on the comedy stage.

It would have been perfectly acceptable to keep it within your system.Mal Shot First wrote:Gotham? Re: Gotham
Actually, it reminded me of this old Benny Hill skit, so I'll forgive it this time:

Re: Gotham
I find The Benny Hill Show and Hee Haw to be equally unfunny. I found both funny when I was a kid. I guess something in me changed.

When those Hill's Angels did their dance numbers, I used to... well now, I don't really have to say it do I?
