We once roamed the vast forums of Corona Coming Attractions. Some of us had been around from The Before Times, in the Days of Excelsior, while others of us had only recently begun our trek. When our home became filled with much evil, including the villainous Cannot-Post-in-This-Browser and the dreaded Cannot-Log-In, we flounced away most huffily to this new home away from home. We follow the flag of Jubboiter and talk about movies, life, the universe, and everything, often in a most vulgar fashion. All are welcome here, so long as they do not take offense to our particular idiom.

Well this is a coincidence. I, too, sigh when I finish.

I usually sob quietly and think about bad life choices.

I never make good life choices, so I don't have enough context for them to think about them.

Re: Gotham
The pilot was way too heavy-handed. The writers need to learn about subtlety.
It's as if they felt like they were required to throw every single character in the Bat-verse into the pilot. It was unnecessary and tedious.
That being said, pilot episodes are often the worst of the bunch. I'll give it a bit more time.

Re: Gotham
It's funny because it's true.
After the pilot I am left torn on this show. On one hand it's really bad...well I've seen worse but it's pretty poor.
On the other, I really like Ben McKenzie, Donal Logue, and Sean Pertwee.
Although the last two don't seem to be doing very good at their respective characters.

Re: Gotham
Pertwee was good in "Dog Soldiers" (I'll have no backtalk, it's a damn fine werewolf movie) and Logue was really good in the terribly advertised "Terriers"
Perhaps both are only good in Canine-related projects but I hold strong loyalty.
Even if Logue does kill most projects he is associated with.

Re: Gotham
I find myself liking this show, mainly for the lead, and the actor portraying Pengy. Clearly this is not a direct prequel the The Dark Knight series, as had been stated earlier.
If that had been the case, we would potentially have seen the League of Shadows using economic warfare to drive Gotham into the Depression mentioned in Batman Begins. That in itself could have been an interesting arc to take, as it could have been a commentary on the real life Wall Street rogues gallery who caused the actual Great Recession.
But maybe not satisfying on a visceral, Biff! Bam! Pow! Wap! level.
