We once roamed the vast forums of Corona Coming Attractions. Some of us had been around from The Before Times, in the Days of Excelsior, while others of us had only recently begun our trek. When our home became filled with much evil, including the villainous Cannot-Post-in-This-Browser and the dreaded Cannot-Log-In, we flounced away most huffily to this new home away from home. We follow the flag of Jubboiter and talk about movies, life, the universe, and everything, often in a most vulgar fashion. All are welcome here, so long as they do not take offense to our particular idiom.
hell, given the shelf life of Twinkies, you could send a box by a slow boat and they'd still be fresh when they got there.
Or buy a box and wait for Jubboiter's inevitable conquest of Europe and let her take the box with her.
They need to be eaten at least three different ways. Room temperature is the standard way, but they're also good refrigerated or microwaved. Don't microwave a single piece for more than fifteen seconds. Also, flip it so that the three holes are facing upward.
I just recently discovered that Brits can't properly pronounce the word lieutenant. I'm just going to preemptively explain this to you, Dalty: When you hear Americans say "LEW-tenant," what they're actually talking about is a "LEF-tenant."
The armchair experts Goits linked to seemed to be mostly British and they seemed rather butthurt that the Americans "uglified" their supposedly correct pronunciation of a word that in no conceivable way should have an f-sound in it.
I love how some guy brings up the possibility that it might be the German influence that brought about this pronunciation in English, but the Germans changed spelling of "lieu" to "leu" and pronounce it "LOY." Nice try, Mr. Armchair Expert!
Under the constitutions of seven states (Arkansas, Maryland, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Texas) atheists are banned from holding office. However this appears violate Article VI of the U.S. Constitution, which states that "no religious test shall ever be required as a qualification to any office or public trust under the United States."
I am confused. Also, isn't one of the sworn jobs of the US President to defend and uphold said Constitution? Therefore shouldn't the White House do something?
