Teach Dalty American!

We once roamed the vast forums of Corona Coming Attractions. Some of us had been around from The Before Times, in the Days of Excelsior, while others of us had only recently begun our trek. When our home became filled with much evil, including the villainous Cannot-Post-in-This-Browser and the dreaded Cannot-Log-In, we flounced away most huffily to this new home away from home. We follow the flag of Jubboiter and talk about movies, life, the universe, and everything, often in a most vulgar fashion. All are welcome here, so long as they do not take offense to our particular idiom.

I'll be passing at least three Dairy Queens on the drive home from work tonight. Come visit anytime!
That said, I'll just set this here for you: www.coldstonecreamery.com

Some of the Coldstone Creamery locations will even sing at you. They hate doing it, and you'll hate hearing it. It's lose/lose, but the act of losing together brings you closer to one another.

But it's soft-serve crappy ice cream. My son worked at a DQ last summer and starts muttering insanely whenever I suggest (sarcastically, of course) we go get one.

I prefer a soft serve to a hard one.

I'm in the Mall of America as I type this, so I see no choice but to grab a Blizzard at DQ in Dalty's honor.

Is it a joint DQ/Orange Julius? If so, you should get yourself an Orange Julius to was that Blizzard down.

I should someday take Dalty to the Mall of America. It's pretty much every American stereotype on display in one conveniently located giant building.

Ain't no stereotypical Skoglund. They are unique.

They've got this franchise called Friendly's here in New England. It's sorta like Steak'n'Shake... but friendlier.

Re: Teach Dalty American!
I experienced my first Friendly's back in 2009 or so. It reminded me of a cross between Dairy Queen and Culver's. I guess it also reminded me of Steak 'n Shake, but it didn't occur to me back then.

Re: Teach Dalty American!
I was only kidding about the "friendlier" part. I can only assume the name of the restaurant is meant to be ironic. New England isn't exactly famous for its hospitality.

I'm still annoyed that it wasn't founded by some guy named "Friendly."

They don't have Steak N' Shake up here. Is it exactly what it sounds like it is?

Re: Teach Dalty American!
No. Well, sort of. It's a faux fifties diner and drive-thru that specializes in semi-gourmet burgers and milkshakes. It was Ebert's favorite place to eat.
They don't do made-to-order steaks or anything. That's what I thought. I thought it would be like Outback, but with an ice cream theme instead of an Australian theme.
Letterman loves it. That's all you really need to know.

Steak N Shake? Sounds like some kind of seasoning that comes in a packet.
