Life isn't too short. It's long. So long. It's a long, long, long life.

Loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong.

And then you die.

And more often than not, your dead body shits itself.

I'm officially single again. We're going to attempt to remain friends and I don't wish her any ill will whatsoever.

Now..help me out fellas. It's been a while since I last attempted dating seriously. What's the proper waiting period before getting back out there? 1 year per month dated? 2 years? 10?

I need to find a Supreme? I feel like at least two of them are dead, Goiter.

Of the above three, only Florence Ballard is dead. Diana Ross and Nancy Wilson are still kickin' it.

Betty McGlown is also dead, I guess, but I'm not sure to what degree folks consider her one of the Supremes. She was definitely a charter member of the Primettes, whatever the case.

The Ross/Wilson/Ballard lineup is probably the most famous lineup. There may be another dead Supreme in there somewhere. Membership was a revolving door in the seventies. For everyone but Wilson, I mean. Once she left, the brand died.

I see, I see.

And what if I said I'd rather go after a Temptation first?

Wait. Are they dudes? I only have eyes for Dalty, let's make this clear.

Now answer my question.

If you like her, let her know you like her. If you think there's more to the story, invite her to tell you more. If she needs space, let her have that space. Don't just go assuming she's fucked in the head because she's feeling a little uncomfortable with the current situation. And if she is fucked in the head, don't necessarily hold that against her.
Also, for the record, this pretty much sums up the situation in it's entirety. She's fucked in the head, I don't hold that against her. I hold it against her past boyfriends/one husband. Oh and her Dad, he definitely got the crazy ball rolling early. Weirdly enough, I finally met him on Saturday and then she and I were broken up by Sunday night. Whirlwind 24 hours.

The Temptations are dudes. I'm fine with you going with one of them first.

If you could have any Temptation living or dead, I'd say to go with David Ruffin. Dude had style. So did Jimmy Ruffin, but he wasn't a Temptation.

Or maybe Eddie Kendricks. He was hot.

There's also Paul Williams. (No, not the one who wrote "Rainbow Connection.") He sang lead on "I Want a Love I Can See." It's one of my favorite Temptation tracks. It was written by Smokey Robinson. (Robinson was not a Temptation. I probably don't need to say this, but I will say it anyway.)

Williams and Kendricks are both from Alabama. (You didn't ask.)

You need to get out there again. No waiting. Date until it's wonky!

It's an old young lady. Been in an on again/off again long distance thing since the beginning of last year. Decided between us we are going to try and see what we can do to move it to a permanent footing and remove the distance.

There are at least two ways I could read that. Fake Strider would read it both of those ways.

I dated a girl for about 4 months and then she broke up with me because it was obvious that we weren't a good match (the reason we were even together for that long was probably fairly superficial for both of us). About a month later, I started seeing the young lady who eventually became my wife. So, you know... there's no reason to wait all that long. It's not like you are coming out of a years-long relationship. Ultimately, it's up to you to decide the right time or what feels right to you, but I doubt there's a set time period that must be respected lest the universe should implode.

When your balls resemble Death Stars the same colour as a tropical ocean then it's time to get back in the game.
