Current Annoyances
Forum rules
We once roamed the vast forums of Corona Coming Attractions. Some of us had been around from The Before Times, in the Days of Excelsior, while others of us had only recently begun our trek. When our home became filled with much evil, including the villainous Cannot-Post-in-This-Browser and the dreaded Cannot-Log-In, we flounced away most huffily to this new home away from home. We follow the flag of Jubboiter and talk about movies, life, the universe, and everything, often in a most vulgar fashion. All are welcome here, so long as they do not take offense to our particular idiom.

Current Annoyance: Insurance companies. Namely, PreferredOne and my sworn nemesis Medica/United Healthcare.

PreferredOne? More like PreferredNONE! Heeeeeyooooooo!
Dalty: Agreed. But the boss (non-Springsteen edition) is fantastic and I'm the only employee. That's a level of job security that's quite rare these days.

I'm the only employee in my current place of business. I wouldn't mind being fired.

Current Annoyance:
Was woken up before 6 a.m. by a series of text messages wanting to know if I could sub at 2 p.m. today. 1. I really don't like being woken up that early and 2. I've told this particular secretary before that I don't have free texting. It adds up pretty quick.

Current Annoyance
Google seems to be cracking down on adblock software. I've noticed it primarily on YouTube, but it may be the case on other Google services, too. The pre-video ads that never used to show up when AdBlock Plus was enabled are now showing up. I haven't noticed this happening on other websites that have ads. It may also be limited to Chrome - I haven't tried it with Firefox. If it is indeed a Chrome issue, I may have to switch back to Firefox.
Goddamn.

It's a shame you're not better at Chrome.

Unless I did, in which case I deserve to be fed to the dogs--slowly, so as not to overfeed the dogs.

Current Annoyance
I spent a couple hours last night looking for a journal to publish something as long as a story I just wrote. There are some places, but they all have unfortunate catches. Well, all of them do but the one place that already rejected it.
Either they only accept snail mail submissions, or they're a strictly electronic journal, or they only offer copies of the journal as payment, or they have a really steep reading/submission fee, or they won't accept simultaneous submissions, or they consider my story too long to qualify as a short story and too short to qualify as a novella.
A snail mail submission wouldn't be a big deal if I actually knew where I'd be living in a year. Some of the places have a 6-12 month response time.

Re: Current Annoyances
Springsteen announced 15 new tour dates today, marking his return to the U.S. after nearly two years of touring abroad.
HOWEVER
Current Annoyance
Absolutely none of the shows are near me, (I think Cincinnati is the closest) making them almost as difficult for me to attend as his shows in Australia this week are.

Didn't you just see him in November of 2012? That's really more like a year and three months.

Re: Current Annoyances
The time between Springsteen shows is measured in a formula slightly similar to dog years. I'll explain it when you're older.

Also, I said NEARLY, Goiter. We're only 9 months away from 2 years!
