My grandmother has been admitted to the hospital three weekends in a row now.
One of those was a four day observation visit in which the solution to her current heart problem was found.
Of course it would have involved extending her stay, so she declined to actually do anything about it.

Sorry to hear that Mango. :(

It seems to be very common that old people get very stubborn when it comes to health issues. My grandparents were a frigging nightmare. Really resistant to any hospital visits due to the fear it was a one-way trip.

My grandparents were across-the-board stubborn in their old age. It didn't just have to do with health issues.

My parents aren't awkward. They are just so fucking negative about everything. It's like they spend the whole time coming up with reasons not to do stuff, because of imagined problems or issues. They will not JFDI.

Writing them or reading them? I hate writing them, almost as much as I hate writing synopses.

Writing. I finally finished it and sent it off. Another job application bites the dust.

You may want to do some investigating into whether Goits sabotaged your career. You've proven yourself invaluable to this new board, and Goits likely came up with the notion that with more free time, you could do even more.

Current Annoyance: I only JUST saw the posts about me from the first page of this thread a week ago. Harrumph.

You need to pull your finger out, boy!

Just because you drift through life with a certain Danish 'laissez-faire' effortlessly collecting Ford Focusses and hot female Facebook friends, doesn't cut it round here!

He's not going to pull his own finger. You should do it for him.

The moment this nurse removes hers from me, then I will be good to go.

I've never had a Ford Focus! You take that back, Dimple!

I am fairly sure your new car that you got all excited about was a Focus?

My current car, which I'm wildly in love with (in spite of it not being much of a winter car and me living in the United States equivalent of Westeros) is a Mazda 3. She's beautiful.

My prior car was a Ford Escort. The transmission died in that one ~2010 though, and I drove a couple different junkers in between that one and the Mazda. Perhaps that's what you're thinking of? Or is the Mazda the same as a Ford Focus on the inside?

Yes, that's it, I remember the convo now. Exact same car underneath and I pointed out that the Focus was the best handling car in its class due to a new kind of cheaper limited slip diff that would usually be too expensive, back then, to fit in those types of car. I had a Mazda 3 Sport once.

I remember now.

It handles SO well. Far and away the best handling car I've ever had. My gas milage is down because of hte cold weather, but "down" is basically from 33-34 City MPG to 30-31. Which is still better than the 28 advertised, so I can handle that.

Ah, yes. The Ford Convo: 4.3 liters, thirty horsepower, six-cylinder engine (with Stromberg downdraft carburetor), can go from zero to one-hundred kilometers an hour in 12.5 seconds. And I even like the color.

Trouble with that Stromberg carb was that it just kept on stealing subs.

You transitioned from a reference to an Indiana Jones movie featuring a Bond to a reference to a Bond movie. Not bad.

I forgot to mention of course that I drive that car exactly as I live my life. A quarter mile at a time.

An A level.

And when I graduated, I heard an inexplicable "Ka-CHUNK" noise. True story.

Was your graduation completely unable to cope with a corner? It's OK, you can tell us.
