New Who

We once roamed the vast forums of Corona Coming Attractions. Some of us had been around from The Before Times, in the Days of Excelsior, while others of us had only recently begun our trek. When our home became filled with much evil, including the villainous Cannot-Post-in-This-Browser and the dreaded Cannot-Log-In, we flounced away most huffily to this new home away from home. We follow the flag of Jubboiter and talk about movies, life, the universe, and everything, often in a most vulgar fashion. All are welcome here, so long as they do not take offense to our particular idiom.

Re: New Who
I still haven't watched last week's. I heard it wasn't that great, but it sounds like everyone thinks that tonight's episode is stellar.

The forest one? It was OK. Typical filler before the big finale really.

Pretty solid Christmas special. Creepy atmosphere and creatures too. Not as good as "A Christmas Carol" but pretty solid.
Nick Frost did a good job as Santa.

A Christmas Carol was Clara's first proper episode? With the snowmen?

It was the episode with Dumbledore and Amy and Rory's honeymoon on the crashing spaceship.

Re: New Who
Whatchu talkin' 'bout? Richard Harris was never on Doctor Who. There was a Richard Harris who worked as an assistant director on Doctor Who, but that was a different Richard Harris.
Oddly enough, my mother's watching Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows while I type this. Jared Harris is currently on the screen.

Re: New Who
Dalty, you didn't like the flying shark Christmas episode?
Was it simply due to the flying fish?

I love a shark. I just thought that episode was amazingly weak.

Well - this season appears to be going to a very dark place.

Watching the first episode of Capaldi's final season. Liking it so far. Love the idea of the Doctor lecturing at a University. Bill, the new companion, seems fun.
A new series of Who is always tinged with a little sadness for me. Jakester and I would get online and talk shit about Who after each episode. It makes me miss him more. I will have a G&T for him and raise a glass as I watch this. Hope his kids are still mental little Whovians like they were!
