New Direction for MCU?

We once roamed the vast forums of Corona Coming Attractions. Some of us had been around from The Before Times, in the Days of Excelsior, while others of us had only recently begun our trek. When our home became filled with much evil, including the villainous Cannot-Post-in-This-Browser and the dreaded Cannot-Log-In, we flounced away most huffily to this new home away from home. We follow the flag of Jubboiter and talk about movies, life, the universe, and everything, often in a most vulgar fashion. All are welcome here, so long as they do not take offense to our particular idiom.

New Direction for MCU?

Post by omicron »

Seen a lot of stuff online about how RDJ is going to be in Captain America 3, setting up the Civil War storyline. I admit, I haven't read the storyline but I know the general stuff about it.

Honestly, I am very excited about it if they do decide to go in this direction. I like the tie-in to Cap 2, and the way if reflects modern society. Add in the rumors that Marvel might get Spiderman to appear in the movies and I am much more excited about this direction than the Infinity Gauntlet stuff they seem to be setting up with GotG and Avengers 2.

So they will throw in 70's style anti-gov paranoia themes but are too scared to show Tony Stark descending into alcoholism?

They already showed that, on a smaller scale, in Iron Man 2. If they were to do a variation on the "Demon in a Bottle" storyline, fans unfamiliar with the comics would probably ask, "Didn't they already cover this in Iron Man 2?"

It lasted for about 15 minutes in the weakest film in the MCU. Barely registered.
