Gotham

Forum rules
We once roamed the vast forums of Corona Coming Attractions. Some of us had been around from The Before Times, in the Days of Excelsior, while others of us had only recently begun our trek. When our home became filled with much evil, including the villainous Cannot-Post-in-This-Browser and the dreaded Cannot-Log-In, we flounced away most huffily to this new home away from home. We follow the flag of Jubboiter and talk about movies, life, the universe, and everything, often in a most vulgar fashion. All are welcome here, so long as they do not take offense to our particular idiom.

Gotham

Post by Dalty »

Why would the city's richest man, his wife and their kid be walking around downtown Gotham on their own? Chauffeur? Bodyguards? Isn't this a bit of a gap in the Batman mythos?

Same reason that Washington University students in St. Louis get mugged every year: Naive rich people obliviously wandering into dangerous situations.

Suppose it could have been Thomas Wayne's character that he always believed the best in people in his city. This is a guy who, despite being a billionaire owner of a conglomerate, worked as a doctor. It's still a stretch.

Like I said, I like the depiction of Pengy as a slimy, yet resourceful weasel. That kid's gonna go places.

You went *all* Ipsy? You mean you Ipsed to the MAX?! Good god, man! I'm surprised you have the energy to continue posting.

* * *

You want to know the real reason people get mugged? It's because they're dumb enough to dress fancy, take care of their bodies, and maintain decent grooming habits.

I've never been mugged. Why? Because I'm a poor, fat slob. My very being communicates to muggers that I am a waste of their time. I also have the build of a small-town bouncer, sure, but its the poor, fat slobbishness that keeps me from ever being mugged.

Now that I've written the above, I'm sure to be mugged within the week. I'd better go to the bank and withdraw a Mugger's Twenty. Muggers can lash out when you have nothing to give them.

I'm trained to disarm, but it's better just to do what the mugger tells you to do. You might attempt a disarm once your impending murder becomes evident, but I'd only recommend this if you are alone. You don't want a friend or loved one to get shot mid-disarm. My instinct is to disarm to the left, meaning anyone who happens to be standing to the left of me is liable wind up in the line of fire. When I'm walking with someone down a sidewalk, I'm usually the one closest to the road. Sometimes that puts people to my left, and sometimes that puts people to my right.

I generally just don't go anywhere alone, late at night, where shit-arse muggers are likely to hang out. It's pretty easy. Which begs the question again, what the fuck did the Wayne clan think they were doing?

I also have just made my own mugging happen tomorrow by posting this.

Yeah. One complaint I agree with about this show is that they really are determined to include any and every major villain within the first episodes of the season, instead of spreading out their intros over a longer period of time.

Except one major villain in particular, who is conspicuous by his absence...

Throw it all in at the start then slow it down.

You know..... introducing major Batman villains into a serial show is a lot like making love to a beautiful woman......

1.) Do people actually do this, or is this just one of those Hollywood inventions?

2.) If people actually do this, do they, like, go months and months without masturbating or something?

3.) If these people are going months and months without masturbating, is it because they're religious? I mean, what gives? Are they ascetics? Are they just plain stupid? It's there to be masturbated. Masturbate it. Unless you genuinely dislike the act and the sensation.

I can understand getting excited after a dry spell and having an orgasm after a couple minutes' worth of coitus. I can understand that sort of premature ejaculation. This whole pre-coital ejaculation thing, though, is beyond me.

Maybe it's because I've desensitized the area with twenty-plus years of furious jackin'. I dunno.

I had an enforced 8 days without, and when I did...... holy moly! It was like a religious experience. Knees shaking, loss of breath afterwards. It was fucking epic! If only I had the self control to force abstention.

Well, we've got venom already, which logically means that Bane is somewhere out there, kickin' it in Corto Maltese or whatever that place was called. Valverde?

Will Captain Marvel show up? If so, which one?

(Don't bother, Fake Strider. Everybody knows DC has done away with the Captain Marvel name and is now calling him Shazam, exclusively. Even though that's the Wizard's name. For DC, Frankenstein's Monster has finally become Frankenstein. And Dr. Frankenstein? Well, he was the real monster all along. This, too, everybody knows.)

No. That was V.E.N.O.M.

"V.E.N.O.M." is short for "Vicious Evil Network of Mayhem." It was pretty ballsy of them to call themselves that. There's not even a hint of a pretense that they think they're really the good guys.
