The Fast & Furious Thread

Why bother with any other forum?
Forum rules
We once roamed the vast forums of Corona Coming Attractions. Some of us had been around from The Before Times, in the Days of Excelsior, while others of us had only recently begun our trek. When our home became filled with much evil, including the villainous Cannot-Post-in-This-Browser and the dreaded Cannot-Log-In, we flounced away most huffily to this new home away from home. We follow the flag of Jubboiter and talk about movies, life, the universe, and everything, often in a most vulgar fashion. All are welcome here, so long as they do not take offense to our particular idiom.

With the kinds of muscle cars they drive, it's more like living a-quart-a-mile at a time.

My expectations are as high as an airplane traveling after departure from a 50 mile long runway, Dimple. There's no way I can be let down.

What happens if you make like future Wonder Woman when in the vicinity of said aircraft?

The thing is I have seriously considered getting on a plane and coming to watch this movie with you for shits and giggles. How close to the Goiter's do you live?

It's about a nine-hour drive. I've done it twice. It's not so bad.

The flight is probably $200 round trip and...I dunno...two hours. I could swing that. Let's do this.

The drive is do-able as well, but staggeringly boring. Or at least it was from Kansas City to Minneapolis. I can't imagine there being a ton of difference between that and the St. Louis to Minneapolis drive.

If I go see it at the one true IMAX screen in the Twin Cities, I can either pay $16.50 for a ticket, or....

"A limited number of VIP packs will be on sale at the box office. $30 gets you premium seating, admission, a medium popcorn & soda, FURIOUS 7 poster & air freshener & $5 will be donated to Paul Walker's non-profit Reach Out WorldWide! Upgrade your already purchased ticket for only $13.50!"

Seems like I can't afford NOT to upgrade.

That's "Fresh." It won't be "Certified Fresh" until it gets some specific number of reviews. When that happens, the button will change from being a red tomato to being a red tomato with a yellow ring behind it and a green banner in front of it. It's more than likely on its way there, though, so don't fret.

I'm not sure of the magic number of reviews required to make the change. It may be 100. The percentage number also needs to stay a certain number above the lowest number required for a fresh ranking. I'm also not sure of this number. It may also require that a specific amount of time passes.

According to the site:

"To receive a Certified Fresh rating a movie must have a Tomatometer rating of 75% or better and at least 40 reviews from Tomatometer Critics (including 5 Top Critics). A TV show must have a Tomatometer Score of 75% or better with 20 or more reviews from Tomatometer Critics (including 5 Top Critics)."

Furious 7 has met these conditions. Fresh certification is sure to follow shortly.

As of this writing, it has dipped slightly to 83% off 65 reviews.

I'm so excited. Have I made this clear yet? SO excited.

I would pay $30 for a cinema ticket to this movie if I could actually MEET Paul Walker.

What am I talking about. If it's 3D or IMAX I do pay about $30. Stoopid exchange rate.
