We once roamed the vast forums of Corona Coming Attractions. Some of us had been around from The Before Times, in the Days of Excelsior, while others of us had only recently begun our trek. When our home became filled with much evil, including the villainous Cannot-Post-in-This-Browser and the dreaded Cannot-Log-In, we flounced away most huffily to this new home away from home. We follow the flag of Jubboiter and talk about movies, life, the universe, and everything, often in a most vulgar fashion. All are welcome here, so long as they do not take offense to our particular idiom.

"Bernie Sanders" sounds like a pet name for a particularly painful sex act.

Years ago I saw a sex documentary about some dudes doing some stuff with sandpaper that really ought not to be done.

How does a sex documentary differ from a documentary about sex?

You know how the documentary Zoo differs from an on-the-scene "making of" about the people in front of and behind a camera filming an honest-to-goodness bestiality short? It's something sort of like that.

Former Republican Rhode Island Senator turned Independent Rhode Island Senator turned Democrat Rhode Island Senator turned Democrat Rhode Island Governor Lincoln Chaffee will be announcing a Presidential run as a Democrat on June 3.
I have a hunch flip flopping may be a frequent criticism sent his way during his candidacy.

Re: The 2016 Sleazy Elitist Democratic Presidential Candidates
I've done my share of political reconsideration over the years. I was (or claimed to be, to all who would listen) a conservative, then a socialist, then a libertarian, then... whatever this is right now. If there's a term for "that guy at the pub who chooses to be the devil's advocate after the fourth pint," then that might be close enough.
There's no shame in it necessarily, it comes with experience and the perspective of age. Of course, it all depends on why a person chooses to alter their affiliation/philosophy. Expediency? Or sincerity.

Ol' Beau Watkins once told me he was half Reagan democrat, half FDR republican. He told me his favorite books were Atlas at Any Speed and Unsafe Shrug.

Agreed. I've always hated the critique of "He changed his mind!" *gasp* Isn't that better than someone taking a position/outlook and sticking with it no matter what at all times forever and ever amen?Space Tycoon wrote: There's no shame in it necessarily, it comes with experience and the perspective of age. If that's the case, how is it any different than adhering to fundamentalist religion?

It's not. The "flip flop" critique happens here all the time and it drives me nuts for exactly that reason.

This is why you need more than 2 parties, so switching parties doesn't have to be a complete volte face.
