What are you watching right now? Watch it...WATCH IT!!

We once roamed the vast forums of Corona Coming Attractions. Some of us had been around from The Before Times, in the Days of Excelsior, while others of us had only recently begun our trek. When our home became filled with much evil, including the villainous Cannot-Post-in-This-Browser and the dreaded Cannot-Log-In, we flounced away most huffily to this new home away from home. We follow the flag of Jubboiter and talk about movies, life, the universe, and everything, often in a most vulgar fashion. All are welcome here, so long as they do not take offense to our particular idiom.

That movie brought me back into the Bond fold. An excellent combination of action, suspense, and romance.

I finally saw Ultron on the small screen, having missed out of seeing it on the big screen. It was entertaining, crowd pleasing, but didn't quite feel like the game changer it's predecessor had been.

The Hulk-Iron Man fight was easily the weakest part of the movie. Like a retread of the Zod-Superman fight, without the gravitas or consequence.

That said, Spader's delivery was very good, I'm okay with the Widow-Banner shipping, and Paul Bethany's Vision was impressive.

"Drunk Stoned Brilliant Dead," a history of the National Lampoon. Interesting, and some really funny stuff in there. Noticed one of the film's producers was the History Channel, so keep a lookout.

I agree with you. I think somewhere along the line our movie barometers have got messed up if we say that films like that, TDKR, Skyfall etc. are "Bad" movies. Not perfect, but when you consider things like all those Marvel movies they shipped in the 00s, Batman and Robin etc. etc. then maybe we are just spoilt now???

I still haven't seen Skyfall, but I gather that a large number of people who go on about their problems with The Dark Knight Rises are frustrated with it more so than they think of it as "bad." They see it as a slickly done and somewhat thoughtful collection of missed opportunities, unbelievable motivations and reactions, and moments of rank silliness. For those who want some kind of fidelity to the source material (in tone, spirit, detail, or some or all of the above), they may see a smug disregard for the property adapted.

There's a difference between a chipped and cloudy diamond and a piece of shit. It's easy to see why the first may stir the passions of a person more than the second. A piece of shit's a piece of shit. People don't look at a piece of shit and say, "It's a shame that piece of shit's a piece of shit." They recognize it for what it is and shrug at it. They've seen a lot of shit. They're used to it. Put an imperfect diamond in their hand, though, and there's no telling what thoughts or emotions will be called forth.

Similarly, when you pick up a piece of shit (e.g. Transformers) why act surprised that your hands are brown and smell a bit?

It's at times like those that we'd be better off following Pilate's example than following Christ's example.

Pontius Pilate: the true teacher of the four canonical gospels.
