Three years ago we always thought we would be forever fighting asymmetrical warfare against terrorist operators within other nation states. Before that we thought we would be in perpetual peacekeeping operations. Funny how things change. I remember the boot being put into the EF Typhoon because it was a "Cold War" jet put into service as the Cold War ended. Now it does A2G and full multi-role and we can't get enough frontline squadrons online to cope with demand.
Always preparing to fight the last war when Russia and China started regional power plays.
