As I write this, the Democrats are literally sitting on the floor of the U.S. House and promise not to move until they're allowed a vote on the no-brainer gun control measures which failed the Senate last week. (After the Democrats there hijacked the floor in a similar yet unrelated fashion)

This won't lead to any new laws being passed because Republicans are still Republicans, but can I just say how fucking refreshing I find it that Democrats are actually standing firmly behind something for once and refusing to back down? I've been waiting years and years and years for this.

This one delightful Republican from Texas did come into the chamber and start yelling "RADICAL ISLAM!" for some reason and apparently almost came to blows with a female Democrat representative.

We're governed by children. But at least they're not bothering to pretend otherwise anymore.

Well yeah, but A has nothing whatsoever to do with B no matter how badly they want it to. Plus just shouting "RADICAL ISLAM!" isn't really any constructive form of argument. What purpose did it serve? Were they all supposed to go "Well. He's got a great point. Pack it up, everybody!" and let that be that?

That approach has kinda worked in the past for the Republicans, so it's not surprising to me that he'd give it a try.

Do you already know which Republican did that? I bet if you don't and I asked you to list me five suspects, his name would be on that list.
