Opening ceremony was good. 20 mins long. Just right, instead of the Olympics type hours and hours and hours.
England v Fiji as first match in a few minutes. England in Pool A with Australia, Fiji, Wales and Uruguay. Group of death!
USA in Pool B with South Africa, Japan, Samoa and Scotland.
Canada in Pool D with France, Ireland, Italy and Romania.
New Zealand are odds-on favourites and looking damn good in the build up. It's going to be six weeks of amazing sport and epic, biblical level drinking. Rugby and beer go hand in hand. That and the singing.

That seems to be the general trend with men's team sports in the U.S. If it's not one of the big three (baseball, American football, basketball), our teams have a habit of going from a strong start to a nosedive. Whenever the trend is bucked (example: ice hockey, 1980 Winter Olympics), we crow about it for decades. We may even make movies about it.
