I thought Batista was great in Spectre and off the scale great in Guardians of the Galaxy.

Watching Suffragette as we speak and its damn good.
These British people aren't all bad teeth and Cockney accents after all, or so I've learned watching movies today.

DC Legends of Tomorrow. Three episodes in. With Arrow and Flash on my planner I am not sure I can keep this on. It's a bit..... cheap?

And monotonous. The main problem with LoT is the whole plot revolves around stopping a singular man using a time machine, but the cast is stuck in a setting where no real fun threats can pop up and divert them for an episode. So they just keep fighting Savage over and over again without making any kind of progress.
Plus they can't seem to make their heroes very heroic, or capable of making any kind of useful decision. It's very frustrating.

Also, the actress who plays Hawkgirl is just plain awful. Every time she's on screen, it takes me out of the show.

Plus, every time Brandon Routh shows up on screen, his resemblance to Christopher Reeve takes me out of the show.

The lady who plays Hawkgirl has a distracting mouth. Three episodes in and it does seem massively repetitive, but then so is Arrow and Flash. Makes you wonder if TV shows about superheroes are sustainable?
It's interesting, in the first few episodes, to see origins told patiently or see arcs develop and you are lulled into thinking "TV shows are a better way than movies to tell these stories!"
By season 3 though, it's just "Oh God! This shit again??"
If you hate your kidneys and liver then you could play an Arrow drinking game and get yourself on the transplant list within one episode.
-Ollie tries to go alone but realises he needs his team with him - drink.
-Canary girl looks massively unconvincing in a fist fight, using a stance that brings to mind a shitting dog - drink.
-Felicity's Magic computers access the entire internet all at once and solve the problem with 15 minutes to go - drink.
-Flashback goes nowhere and tell you nothing - drink.
-Punch up/shoot out in non-description but familiar looking warehouse - drink.
-Office Lance grumbles something but in the end realises Ollie isn't such a bad guy - drink.
Dial 911 - hope they arrive before organ failure sets in....

Re: What Are You Watching Right Now - Not Adam Dancing!!!
I'm five or six episodes into the second season of Daredevil. I'm enjoying it. So far, I think I might prefer it to the first season. I also liked the first season.
I enjoy The Flash and think it's more or less a good show. I don't see any problems with sustainability. It's pretty comic book-y, and comic books can sustain themselves for decades. Granted, television and comic books are a different medium.
Soap operas are television, and they can sustain themselves for decades. There's plenty of soap opera in The Flash. Some of it I like, some of it I don't. The Iris West stuff was tedious through most of the first season. It has improved a bit. They moved past the whole keeping-Barry's-superpowers-a-secret-from-her thing. That resulted in a Iris-whines-about-how-see-was-deceived thing, which was also annoying, but they've moved past it, too. I think they've realized they need to start working on making her likable if they want her to someday be Iris Allen. They transferred some of her whininess on to Wally, but I think that will play out before the end of the season.
Speaking of Wally, it occurs to me that there are a bunch of similarities between this show's version of Wally West and the Trank Fantastic Four's Johnny Storm. Both characters are obsessed with speed. Both characters are racing cars illegally. Both characters are estranged from their fathers when we meet them. Both characters are brought in to meet their father's "work" families. Both characters' fathers adopted someone of a different race. Both characters were originally white in the comic books. Both appear to be mechanically gifted. Both heroes are traditionally represented with red and yellow when they're in action. (All right. That last one's a real stretch. Speaking of stretching, both of them are based on comic characters who have been on teams with a stretchy guy.)
There are so many similarities, it almost seems like CW DC is having fun at Marvel's expense. Johnny Storm already had a history as a race car driver and mechanic in the comics, but I don't think Wally West did. I barely have any knowledge of the New 52's version of Wally West. Maybe the show reflects that version.

Did Wally West become Flash 4 or something?

Wally West was originally Kid Flash. He became the third Flash a little over a year after Barry Allen's death in 1986. He remained the Flash for almost twenty years after this. For a lot of people our age, he's the Flash--more so than even Barry Allen.

Like Captain Smashpants? The Parrallel Universe one, not the original or Smashpants v2.0 to v7.0. That would just be silly.

Wally West is basically the Horsо, Jr. to Barry Allen's Horsо, Sr. (It's not a perfect analog. Wally was Barry's nephew-by-marriage. It's not really even close enough to being an analog for me to bother making it. I just felt like the board needed a little more Horsо.)

Actually, with all the superhero hoopla now-a-days, I thought I'd revisit Unbreakable.

Thanks to Dalty, Horsо's name gets insta-asterisked every time a person submits it. I have to use workarounds to make it happen.

How is this my fault? It is not my fault that your (wise and lovely) wife thinks the world needs protecting from your equine travesty. The Swollen Goiter of God wrote:Thanks to Dalty, Horsо's name gets insta-asterisked every time a person submits it. I have to use workarounds to make it happen.
