Dalty! Explain this nonsense! Why are people taking anything Boris Johnson says seriously?

BoJo might seem like a buffoon but he is a very shrewd politician, fiercely intelligent and an accomplished historian. His biography of Churchill is a must read.

You make him sound the way Adam54 makes Trump sound.

BoJo came out and said Trump is an idiot.

Sounds like something Trump would do.

I'm nowhere near THAT glowing about the Donald.

I would never put BoJo in the same bracket as Captain Tiny Hands.

Not even the hairstyle bracket?

I read this week that a Brexit would also lead to the Scots leaving the UK. Surely you can get on board with that, yes? Your economy would collapse upon itself like a dying star, but at least the Scots would be gone?

And imagine if Northern Ireland left too! It'd be the Special Olympics of nation building! Who wouldn't get behind a heartwarming tale about a ragtag group of religious extremists trying to make it on their own?

Why would our economy collapse on itself? It would be like Alabama leaving the USA.

And the Jock Independentamentalists say they want to leave the UK because they don't want to be ruled by somewhere else (Westminster) but then want to be ruled by Brussels? Hypocritical! They had their chance.

Please. You don't contribute that little to Europe's economy.

Obama says you'd go to "the back of the queue" on trade. That's problematic, isn't it? I'm sure Future President Clinton would echo that sentiment.

Obama is looking out for the US position as it would mean work for his (or next) administration. 5th biggest economy on the planet, growth outstripping all of Europe. World's financial centre in London. Back of the queue wouldn't be an option.

He's worried because TTIP wouldn't apply - plain and simple. He's not threatening. He's scared.

Also - how about the USA lets Colombia set it's trade agenda? Thought not. Yet that's what he is advocating.

I'm not familiar with TTIP or Colombia's trade agenda. Help a Skoglund out.

The Colombia thing was an example. Obama wants Britain to remain in the EU. Yet no President would ever surrender control of US affairs to another. Yet that is the status quo he wants to maintain with the U.K. In the EU.

TTIP Is the Transatlantic Trade & Investment Partnership that some say surrenders state control to multinational business interests.

Well, sure. But doesn't geography alone make the circumstances different? Y'all have like 50 countries within a thousand square miles over there. We've got one big one.

Hasn't the US essentially already surrendered control of its affairs to Big Business?

Which is why he is such a cheerleader for TTIP.

And why he's so against the Brexit?

Re: Brexit

Partly. He also wants/needs the status quo. It's something he else he needs to worry about. It's "Get it off my desk!" politics.

Is it though? He's got seven months left. What the hell does he care about the politics? He can freely speak his mind at this point.
