I'm not really sure who comes off worse in that video. I mean sure, she seems stupid, but man is he a dick.

Funny stuff though.

Liam Fox eliminated in the first round of voting, Stephen Crabb pulls out.

Theresa May, Michael Gove and Andrea Leadsom left.

Hmmmmmmmmm.......

Theresa May seems fucking nuts. Shouldn't Cameron be calling a new general election??

Doesn't work like that. We vote for local politicians. The party that wins the most local politicians gets to form a government and the leader of that party is PM. Cameron quit as leader of that party so that party picks a new leader re: new PM.

I am not sold on May but she is Home Secretary so has experience at the highest level.

Ahhhh, I see. I'm mildly familiar with Gove, what can you tell me of this Andrea lady?

Energy Secretary. Bit of a star in the Brexit movement by the way she dealt with attacks in debates. Considered to be ministerialy a little green but has life experience.

Gove is probably the straight smartest, revolutionary individual with the biggest ideas but might have messed up his run with his usurping of Boris, and his turning on Cameron to support Brexit. Gives worries about his loyalty.

If it was a blank sheet of paper I would support Gove personally after his time as Minister for Education and Minister for Justice. He's a reformer with big ideas and renowned for his work ethic to bring about real change in government. I think, though, other factors will derail him.

I just find it hilarious that both Johnson and Farage have taken themselves out of the running. "We broke it, you fix it!"

Not quite that simple Negs. Johnson had full intention to run for leader but was nobbled by Gove and had a quiet word with by other Tory MPs so he went to save face.

Farage's mission was always deliver the referendum and the result. He was leader of UKIP, he had no power or influence over what came next.

I'm with you on Johnson, he got played. But Farage? Wouldn't this be a prime time to start positioning UKIP to really grow as a party? Their potential has never seemed stronger than it is right now, he's the man who led them here, and he's...just done? I don't get it.

Farage is UKIP and UKIP have one mission. That mission has pretty much just been delivered. With one MP they have no power or influence over what happens next. Why stay and just be a noise on the sidelines? The real scramble starts for Labour and the Tories to try and reclaim the 4.something million who voted UKIP at the last election. That's the political prize.

The Tea Party has completely hijacked American politics by being a loud, obnoxious noise on the sidelines. Are you saying they'll just fold as a party now?

Re: Brexit

No, but they will always be put back in their box by the question "What do you want now?"

Re: Brexit

Yup. We tried that on the Tea Party too. If it were American politics, the Tories would ask "What do you want now?", UKIP would answer with something extremist and absurd and the Tories will go "Okay!! You got it!!" and adopt that position as their own in the distant hopes that by doing so, UKIP will quickly fade away.

UKIP gains are mostly in Labour areas, as were the winning swing voters for Brexit.

Sure is! It's a shame but he was probably nobbled by fellow MPs as after all he was largely responsible for the downfall of their PM.

So next year we could have Clinton, Merkel and May in charge. Three women in charge of three of the worlds major powers. Given how much shit Thatcher gave the USSR - it was them that coined the nickname "The Iron Lady" and they were more scared of her than Reagan - it might give Putin some pause. Also will be an interesting dynamic with the Saudis, the Emirates and other countries that view women as 2nd class citizens.

Are you saying they were more scared of her than they were of Reagan, or are you saying they were more scared of her than Reagan was?

How's May been working out so far, Dimple? I haven't heard a lot of worldwide anguish thus far, so that's a good thing I suppose?
