Please don't say that to the nice girl you talked to on the phone.

Even after we're married, I come home from work to discover that it was her turn to cook dinner, I'm greeted by wonderful smells coming from the kitchen and say "Hi honey! I smelled what you were cooking! Can't wait for dinner!"?

Not that I've given this much thought at any point in the past.

If you say it that way, it just sounds creepy. I recommend something more along these line: "Hey, Honey! What's for dinner? Smells great!"

Whenever you find yourself at a crossroads, just ask yourself what Ol' Beau Watkins would do.

If he can afford it.

He works it, whatever the case, and he leaves the ladies all aflutter.

Scratch that. Just lined up a date on Monday with a Coffee Meets Bagel girl. She's the bagel, and at long last we'll find out if I'm a coffee.

Be sure to give her a heat warning before you spill in her lap.

"I'll fire up some Dinty Moore and we can save on dinner. It'll be nice. We can let the aroma of 'Made with Fresh Tomatoes & Carrots' wash over us. Scrub up real good before you come over, though. I'm not going to be able to enjoy it as much if you smell. What? *I'm* cooking, Bagel. I call the shots."

I find myself asking this frequently, but I am generally never able to produce such a wall of text at such short notice.

Weekend estimates have Guardians of the Galaxy back in the top spot. Motherfucker has some legs. This was its fourth weekend. It was in second place for its second and third weekends.

It's a few days away from beating out Winter Soldier to become the top grossing movie of the year. It's unlikely to finish out the year at the top, though. The next entry in the Hunger Games series is almost sure to pass it.

I am basically going to give up pre-empting anything Marvel now. I said I didn't see how Thor could work on film. I said The Avengers wouldn't work because there would be too many people vying for screen time. And I thought this might just be one comic adaption too far, and a minor comic strip which is sci-fi after Edge If Tomorrow and John Carter tanked didn't fill me with hope.

Wrong on every count!!

It's going to get my 5 bucks tomorrow. Hope to grab a matinee. With the kids back in school, I'll probably have the entire theater to myself!! :D

Saw it this afternoon, and I really liked it. Having little to no knowledge of the characters or their stories, I was very entertained and got drawn in the story. Loved the visuals. For supposed to be a badass Drax sure did get his ass kicked alot :) And I loved the post credits scene with the Collector and SPOILER: Howard the Duck.

Guardians of the Galaxy will more than likely win this weekend, too. At this point, it's beating Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles pretty easily from day to day. November Man and As Above/So Below both had pretty anemic debuts. November Man opened on Wednesday and made a little more than half what Guardians of the Galaxy made on the same day. As Above/So Below didn't even crack half a million on its Thursday debut.

It's the last weekend of summer, and it's also Labor Day weekend/a three-day weekend. Traditionally, the last blockbusters standing do pretty well over the last three days of summer. If Guardians of the Galaxy didn't pull ahead of The Winter Soldier yesterday, it will be pulling ahead of it today.

Guardians should win this weekend, too. Eat it, Ninja Turtles!
