Super Bowl XLVIII
Forum rules
We once roamed the vast forums of Corona Coming Attractions. Some of us had been around from The Before Times, in the Days of Excelsior, while others of us had only recently begun our trek. When our home became filled with much evil, including the villainous Cannot-Post-in-This-Browser and the dreaded Cannot-Log-In, we flounced away most huffily to this new home away from home. We follow the flag of Jubboiter and talk about movies, life, the universe, and everything, often in a most vulgar fashion. All are welcome here, so long as they do not take offense to our particular idiom.

Super Bowl XLVIII
Broncos vs Seahawks
I will be rooting for the Broncos because:
-I usually root for the AFC
-I like Peyton Manning. He's a funny guy.
-The Seahawks beat my Saints
-There were 4 really bad calls in Sunday's NFC championship, and they all went the Seahawks' way (unnecessary roughness called against the 49ers for a clean shoulder pad to shoulder pad hit on the receiver, a late hit call against the 49ers for a nudge on a Seahawk as he was going out of bounds at the end of the half, a roughing the kicker penalty against the Seahawks that was deemed only a running into the kicker for 5 yards instead of 15, and a clear fumble by the seahawks and recovery by the 49ers on the 1 yard line where possession stayed with the Seahawks)
-And last but not least, the jackhole asshat Seahawk that was running off his mouth at the end of the game.
All in all, kick ass, BRONCOS!

The same way that red devils, spurs, potters, gunners, lions, citizens, magpies, black cats, and hammers are involved in English football.Bananarama's Bouncy Bits wrote:Riiiiight. And how are hawks and bucking horses involved?

The United badge features a red devil. Stoke City's logo even fucking says "The Potters" on it.

I bet Stoke City's fandom got a real boost when the J.K. Rowling books hit it big.

Man Utd are nicknamed Red Devils because of their badge, by their fans. The rest of us call them The Vomit.
Again, The Potters is just a nickname given to the club by their fans that the club have then adopted onto their badge.

I wonder how often the "Toke City" joke gets made because of the Potters' nickname.

I should've put a disclaimer in the titles for all the silly Brits on the board.

The disclaimer would be for the "silly" Brits. By my count, there's only 1.
Just found another reason to root against the Seahawks. http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nfl-shutd ... --nfl.html

Re: Super Bowl XLVIII
So, a Broncos fan threw a full beer cup at Kordell Stewart as he walked off the field, I think it was after the Steelers lost the '97/98 AFC Championship. Kordell claimed the cup hit him in the head and the beer gushed right into his eyes, as best I recall. Fuck Denver! And fuck Denverites! I want Russell Muscle Wilson to be the second ever black QB to win the Super Bowl. It's about time already.

Didn't he? Isn't Djack Zteelecock exactly the type of fake Jack-styled name that Thursty would improvise, thinking it would easily fool weak-minded rubes like Dalty? On second thought, never mind.Thurston McQ wrote:It's Jack!

If he was walking off the field, he could handle getting shit thrown at him. The line is drawn on carted players.

I suppose you want the Seahawks to win because you feel bad about them getting screwed over with the officiating in their last Super Bowl.

Re: Super Bowl XLVIII
I prefer the Broncos:
1. Peyton Manning is a class act.
2. I have many relatives/friends who are Broncos fans.
3. Just because Seattle's cheating coach is no longer in the NCAA, it doesn't mean he shouldn't suffer. Jackhole.
